If the place had a fireplace, it would have probably been featured on Zillow. It's a feature real estate agents and renters can use to try to get interest.

The upper right hand corner shows an outlet and potentially another window. Comparing to the zillow image there is no outlet to the right of any window. This image could be flipped but that doesn't explain the other window unless I'm missing something. I think the best we can conclude is that the dog is not in the room pictured however. I assume Ethan's Mansion has other rooms though. To my knowledge we have not heard the baying of hounds on the killstream.

The most telling thing however is that this has not been brought up by Ralph. If Ralph owned a Rottweiler I'd imagine he'd flaunt it. "COME TO MUH FUCKIN HOUSE AN MUH DAWG WILL BE DERE TO GREET YOU TELL EM GAYTOR"
