You do good. I'm thankful i outgrew anime and now i look back and see how much of an autist i was.
But if anyone dips into anime, they would do good to stay away from western fandoms.
Way too many people project their own fetishes on their work. You would be surprised about how many people outside of smut artists inject their fetishes into their work. Always keeping it thinly veiled so it's not too obvious that they have a thing for some form of BDSM or non consensual sex, as long as there is some form of sex in their work.
The thing is that japanese artists amp it to 8 and it becomes quite obvious. You would be surprised how many japanese women have a thing for abusive and obsessive boyfriends. For example, you know that manga about a fat elf that has to go on a diet? The guy that makes it was a former porn artist and he has confessed already he has a thing for fat women.

In my time around weeb shit, i will say it's pretty damn normal to see stuff like that around fujioshis. Say what you want about anime coomers, fujioshis tend to be in the same level of fucked up as the most deranged of jap artists. The usual on them is either gay pairings, crossdressing or abusive boyfriends (dunno why, but they are really popular), but they can keep it up with their male counterparts when it comes to mutilation, murderfucking, blood fetish, rape and all that sick shit.

Yep. They supposedly want white people to invest in their neighborhoods and businesses, yet when whites try to do that, which sometimes requires them to live in the same places as blacks and other minorities, they cry bloody murder. They hurt themselves because they insist on hating white people at all costs. On top of that, they do all they can to avoid "acting white" which really just means they hate obeying law, getting an education, holding a job, etc. Then they have the nerve to whine about whites still hating them.
