General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Is this person a confirmed troon? because they really sound like one to me. the voice is not enjoyable at all, which is a pretty big part of the experience.
She just sounds like a girl with a deep voice and possible Hispanic accent to me. She did mention that she can't really keep a high pitch voice for extended periods but she does sound like a squeak toy when scared and it does go up when she's nervous, at least during the debut. She has Ina energy with Calli pitch, if that makes sense. Calli pitches her voice up when streaming for Hololive but if you were to listen to her talking casually or even her earlier Dice raps, her voice is harsh and somewhat raspy.

Completely unrelated but people are using Garnt's business email to sign him up for porn (which may get him sacked by Kadokawa) and it's a glorious shitshow. I don't really tune into Hime at all but from what I can tell she really isn't acting any fucking different than her normal self on Sydsnap's channel and this is just an excuse for her to stream...when she probably could have just done so with a facecam anyway.
Same thing is happening with Joey. I think some people got angry because they made fun of people who pay for porn on their podcast.

I'm pretty sure she's partially Hispanic considering she said that she's fluent in Spanish (and French).

And she's now saying she's basically a veteran in Elsword. Most likely a Hispanic weeb.

EDIT: "If there's anything you want in Elsword, I can get it at a cheap price." Kind of feeding into my confirmation bias about the Hispanic thing there, Kyuotto. :story:

Just wait for someone to ask her "chancla or cinto" and see if she has strong opinions on either.

New HoloGra is a promotion for Bloom and an anime season final episode. They address the whole "Hololive is an idol group" "AKB47" "Seiso Idol?" stuff. Several members have already express the sentiment before (I know Suisei said exactly the same when she was ask why she called herself an idol and not singer/streamer), but it's nice to have an official standing we can refer to from now on.
Probably won't stop Reddit from betting the zombie horse of Yagoo's broken dream, but whatever.
Cover has felt that way for a while, ever since they dropped the Ye Olde Hololive seiso idol act (Coco and some others helped with that) in what was probably around early Summer of last year. Hell, even the Bloom "info" tab on the concert website says that the talents don't need to sing nor dance to be idols; as long as they themselves consider themselves to be idols, they are. Hololive has more or less just become a troupe of entertainers with various talents and abilities, not even so much an "idol group," in my eyes. To me, the "idol" thing is just a title to separate them from other Vtubers at this point.

But yes I do agree that the "YAGOO's dream is dead" line is fucking tired.

Eh, the Taiwan thing was just a means to an end. They were just pissed off that Coco didn't want to be bothered with Bilibili and probably partly due to the fact that she's American. As most people know Coco can be very stubborn, and I don't mean that in a bad way. Outside of the Bilibili thing just look at her stance against getting anything Nintendo related. Bad timing for mentioning that though as I think she mentioned that she was getting a Switch, probably as punishment for oversleeping that one time.

But hopefully, she gets some English mods too, though I think that Coco's chat is surprisingly JP dominant, even more so than a lot of other JP girls so we'll see.

And Luna's streaming again. I really hope she doesn't have to go through any more shit in the foreseeable future, she's gone through enough.

Edit:
Coco's also going to play Valheim at 23 JST on Mildom if you want to support her without Cover taking a cut.
I'm also of the mind that the chinks had it out for her for a long time but just took their chance and shot their shot when she dared utter "Taiwan," to use it as an excuse, so they'd have some convoluted "political issue" to hide behind if and when the rest of the world asked why they were acting like petulant faggots..... not that it stops us from calling them that anyway, since they are. The most maddening thing about the bugmen is they're so brainwashed that they actually expected everyone else to side with them and demand Coco's graduation.

Haha, funny.

Also, Luna still having it a bit rough. Her wrist is healing, she got her stitches out I believe, but she said on her roommate Twitter the other day her throat is bothering her yet again, and went to the doctor yet again. The girl just has not been 100% since, like, late November. I feel for her.

My immediate complaint is why Cover didn't put priority on getting the costumes done in time? They more than likely have the capital, but did they see no money in it?
You're right about the costumes being done, but Luna said on Twitter right after Stage 1 was over that hers had some kind of modeling bug that the team just couldn't figure out how to fix in time for Beyond The Stage. So, the rest of yonkisei decided that they'd wait so they could all do the idol outfit reveals together at a later date and time, which was nice. Disappointing for the fans though, we obviously wanted to see them transform up on the big stage, which was the original plan.

I'm just wicked pissed I'm gonna be at work and miss the reveals live. Oh, well though.

"chancla or cinto"
Correa is what is normally called it here

long as they themselves consider themselves to be idols
Is the AKB48 playbook, thing is that Cover can bend the rule more because their book say that they at least have to look good, reason for this is that they can be carried by the other member their units, you can put a 5/10 in hololive and as long as she is entertaining no one will care

They should just embrace being Vtubers in all the sense of the word instead of idols, there is no rule that say a vtuber cant sing or dance

Basically, what Hololive do is taking Idol aesthetic and activities out of all those toxic seiso "clean and pure" stuff and let each member make their own version of the image of an idol. Some throw it out of the window like Coco, but some like Suisei still pretty follow the general idea of it; she refuse to horny-baiting in RFA and ask people not to share R18 with her art tag. It's her choice that her image of Hoshimachi Suisei isn't lewd, even when she's a shota shonencon.

Talking about Suisei remind me of that one time while she was playing Tertris and for some reason start intentionally bark like a dog and said, "Oh no, I awake everyone weird fetish!" She then ask the viewer to tell their weird fetish in chat. It quickly got derailed (one guy said 'belly punching' and she even respond with "See! I know you have weird fetish!") and after a few minutes she drop the topic hard and get back to the game. Personally, I think she slip a bit. She seems a little sick that day.

The last Hanayori Girl's dorm stream is coming up in a few hours. After this ends, every member of the group will go there separate ways as indies. Go drop if you care and/or have the free time.

There's no such thing as seiso or pure though. That stopped being a thing in Japan for idols since the end of the 90s with Morning Musume and then AKB48 destroying this. The only thing remotely "pure" that remains is the dating ban, otherwise, you literally have idols talking about all sort of things in radio shows and tv, including members of AKB48 that are literally shotacon fans and known by that, along many other interests and things they did over the years.

And of course, idols have no stigma to collab with other men, talk with men in talk shows or anything, unlike what hololive faces. The only actual problem of idols is for romantic relationships, although even this isn't much these days considering one AKB48 member got caught having sex, suffered a lot of criticism and ended up the most popular member of the group. lol

Bonnivier Pranaja is going to play Fallout: New Vegas at 4 PM GMT+7 aka. 3 hours from now. I can't wait for this shit.

From what I seen, it looks like Sora kinda doesn't like the whole "pure idol" image thing though. By that I mean, yeah she acts like a pure idol (because that's her personality) but, there's seems to be an air of awkwardness whenever that aspect of her is emphasised. (Wa
Her 2 family died, her niece disappear. She need to learn more after finishing the whole campaign.

My wallet is already crying with the possibility of a polka figurine.

kinda shows this awkward atmosphere due to 99% of the memes being seiso related).
That's not to say she hates or even dislikes being "seiso".

Maybe Japan is no longer like that. But KPop / Korean Idol Culture is still like that, unfortunately.
