This is exactly what I was hoping someone would do, hopefully it will stay up there forever. I plan on binge watching his stuff if he deletes it all in 3 weeks

Gotta be honest, I think they know show's over. PCP is only run by like two people now and Digi barely shows up on it. Their viewcounts are abysmal and their subcount has been stagnate for years now. It's entirely possible they will announce a rebranding or new channel in the next month or so.

The thing about talking about the themes of anime to the typical Western anime audience is that it's basically like talking to retards. Lots of anime go as far as to explicitly spell out their themes in monologues or narration, and the audience still manages to miss it somehow. In Gurren Lagann, the main character explicitly describes the meaning of the drill metaphor to the audience in the final episode. What Nate was doing was just spoon feeding the audience exactly what they had already heard without the bright lights and hype music to distract them. You can call it a great video, I call it a video that would be unnecessary for people with half a brain.

We shit on his former fiancee but I mean she was basically a perfect match for digi for how degenerate that actually is. To sacrifice all that for self exploration boggles my mind.

Good partners bring out a person's best traits and help them to deal with their worst. What Amanda did was the exact opposite. She fed into all of his delusions. She encouraged him to be careless with his financial situation. She encouraged him to begin a deep descent into a crippling drug habit (and promptly left him when the consequences started to become apparent).

After Amanda had done her damage, Digi went from a man with an independent career that he could live a middle class lifestyle on to a vagabond with delusions that he will be a musician-commentator. He went from a guy who had a live-in girlfriend to a man who gets sodomized by a weird junkie called "Bird". He went from achieving his dreams of a career in an artistic medium he loves to dreaming about being a 29-year-old man-loli. Digi went from Conrad the eccentric to Digitroon. Amanda is the worst thing that has ever happened to Conrad/Beatroon.

It really makes you wonder what the overall point of deleting all his channels is. If archives exist all over YouTube and soon the Archive, Digi isn't going to be able to escape his old image at all. Everytime someone searches up his name, it will be of his old stuff. He also can't change the URL of his YouTube channel, nobody can. Digibrony will forever be his handle on the site unless he makes a new channel.

I'm wondering if Digi is even gonna pull the trigger (figuratively speaking) and actually private everything. They've always been prone to pretty impulsive decisions and three weeks is a long enough time for them to just totally flip around on this.

Even then, are they going to actually delete their videos, or just private them? If it's the latter, then that gives them the option to basically walk back all of this.

There's just a part of me that thinks that Digi isn't going to commit to this, thereby wasting the time and energy of a lot of their most dedicated fans (and this place).

Downloading videos for me doesn't take long at all, I just run youtube-dl in the background while I do other things, very handy tool. As for Digi actually going through with it, I mean look where we are now. Doing rash things that hurt himself, his relationships, his reputation, his career, and his public image? Why, he would never! That doesn't sound like him at all. He will do it, and he won't see anything wrong with it.

While I think it's sort of ridiculous to compare random anime shit on youtube to historical books, in a sense I can't help but feel this way as well. It's just so fucking entitled to create art in any form and then suddenly decide that it shouldn't exist in an easily accessible form any longer. When you release art into the world, it no longer belongs to you. It belongs to the world, no matter what it is. Robbing people of the connections they had and would have had with it is indefensible. Imagine if Tolkein or Herodotus decided that their books didn't represent their current state of mind any more and had them all recalled and destroyed.

Digi on the other hand has made so many mistakes, when you go back and watch his lecture, they way he talks about Maddox is genuinely hilarious because every point about how Maddox turned himself into a lolcow, now applies to Digi.

It is all too funny to me that around three years later Mumkey's prediction that they would both be the Maddox has come true.

I'd request maybe putting the house or room tours in higher quality since the focus of those vids are more on his surroundings and less about his musings. Don't know how many there are, I can remember like 3 room tours and 3 house tours, but figured those would be worth having at 720.

It's self-indulgence, not self-exploration. Digibro couldn't handle the pressure of making videos or rants anymore so he retreated into his own bullshit and took the trannypill for sympathy.

If he didn't want to be an e-celeb anymore that's fine, but he doesn't have the guts to actually get a job or go back to college and make some positive changes in his life. He wants to surround himself with sycophants who will pay for his destructive lifestyle and never criticize him for it. He's a loser and a coward.

You know, it's kinda ballsy for Digi to do this. They're risking their entire..."career" (at least, one that involves making mostly video content), trust, and possibly income by heading towards this current path. Unless the other side-projects can succeed (making music, podcast, making a light novel, etc) or they can e-beg enough money to last them for an entire lifetime, they're fucked.

Like you said, it's cool if they don't wanna be an e-celeb anymore but they've stated before about not wanting to have another regular job again or whatnot. It sucks but in that case, barely making any content that offers the most income and pissing it away on drugs (especially hard drugs) and anime merch probably isn't the wisest move. There's some people who have made a decent name for themselves on Youtube making videos who realize the wobbly impermanent nature of the platform. Some decide to branch out, others decide to focus on their careers that they know will likely get them as much income as possible. Digi could use the skills in video editing or making music. Maybe write a book analyzing anime or Evangelion? Some folks have done that; not sure how well, though.

If becoming trans is truly a legitimate thing and nothing else (e.g a transtrender or doing it for fetish-reasons), that's fine. However, the actions during the past months have showcased a waned interest in making similar content that folks originally tuned into and even paid for via Patreon. People might be willing to understand you transitioning, otherwise. While not as popular, the Pedantic Romantic transitioned while making videos but didn't suddenly stop making content the channel was known for or the quality dipping to a subpar range (as far as I know). I know they last posted a year ago so my example may not exactly work lol.

As long as they doesn't further piss the Patreon crowd and finish any reamining task/rants, then I hope they make the switch to whatever life possible. Just...wouldn't hurt to better themselves, too.
