Indeed, branding men as evil is part of what led to this. The educational system, among other things, has become explicitly engineered to punish masculine behavior. Male role models are torn down at every opportunity - how many TV shows positively portray father figures? Men generally bear the "men are trash" slurs stoically because that's what men do.

The postmodern movement ignored women until more recently, and when it went after them through the transgender movement, it used a different approach. It actively intimidates and coerces them and demands submission to the new ethos. If it occurs to you that this is how traditional male power structures have also interacted with women, you're starting to figure things out.

However, this is not because the trans movement is "patriarchal." Some conservatives say that the they are being attacked by feminists and a female-controlled power structure, but they're just blind men feeling another part of the elephant. Rather, wokeism and the postmodern ideology are anti-human at their core. They are driven by people who are not happy with the way people are, and their particular neuroses preclude them from working to find solutions. Wow, it sure is likely that somebody who posts this many words on the internet in reality can't see a single thing besides a black void when they open their eyes.

The explanation I've got for why people are okay with troon sons over gay sons is that having your son being gay is seen as your fault, which brings a lot of shame on the family. But if you having a trans son the blame falls on factors outside of your control so nobody'll will (openly) shame you. Doesn't really make sense to me, but neither do a lot of hardcore religious ideas.

Is there any more of an explanation beyond that though? I don't see how being gay and possibly wanting to crossdress would somehow be more "their fault" than a son who who wants to completely reject his male identity. I guess the explanation where it's more acceptable to make your gay son become a straight woman as opposed to continuing to exist as your gay son makes more sense to me.

A hundred times this. I've realized over time that one of the core woke tenets is that no one should ever feel ashamed for anything. They don't explicitly say it much but it's always been there, from the disdain toward "respectability politics" to the glorification of everything ugly in their artwork to the subtle undercurrent of pedo apologism. Just about the only thing they think anyone should be ashamed of is not following the woke faith.

Shame serves an important psychological purpose in humans. It keeps people from veering onto unhealthy paths without the need for explicit rules and enforcement mechanisms. Throwing it all out because you don't want people to feel bad is like removing all the guardrails from bridges and walkways in a city because they look ugly.

And on a less PC note, I'm starting to think that "toxic masculinity" and masculine behavior standards, especially those that have been derided as "too restrictive" are necessary for men, because they keep men from going off the deep end with destructive indulgence. 50 years ago Jonathan Yaniv would never have done anything because he would have known he'd get beaten to a bloody pulp for 1/100th of what he's pulled.

Well, they think nobody should be ashamed for anything with the exception of having anti-woke views or even views that are lukewarm on wokeness. And also you should ashamed of being white/straight/non-trans/etc. and should be constantly letting woke minorities talk over you and explain to you how the world "really" works because they're oppressed and you're not.

1. Currently, only the Aborigines get the cashless basics cards (for the non aussie kiwis, electronic food stamps). White people dole (Jobseeker) is cash deposited into your bank account.

Anyone can objectively tell you why the cashless basics card, aka Abodole, is shit and why there are people campaigning against it.

2. Aboriginal populations are serviced by state-based insurance provider with its own networks, which in turn is fed from a federal body whose name changes every fucking election cycle. When an Aboriginal person is admitted into hospital or requires specialist care, the bill goes to the state govt.

Also, Aborigines get sick a LOT. if they were purely on Medicare with the rest of us, they would singlehandedly bankrupt the system.
