TY for the lore update. Someone really needs to make an autistic summary with all the info we have TBH. Shouldn't be the OP, just for hardcore autists like a sourcebook or some shit.

EDIT: This made me wonder why they've never done a DnD thing, seems like the perfect grift... Googled it. Got reminded it was literally the starting point for the ProJared/Ross getting divorced drama. Bros.

Vids are private but tweets aren't! (Sure this has been archived in the relevant threads already, so I won't bother.)

A) I have no idea how to check if it was archived
B) I don't trust anybody enough to believe that it was

Barry always came off as the back bone or entire spine of Game Grumps during his time there. He always did most the editing and background work and never inserted himself into shit too hard until later on, Things always felt shacky when Kevin took on most the work and once he left things became a little more soulless.

Game Grumps have since found a seizure inducing suspected child creep to edit videos for them which they seem content with.

As we know, Ross has been reacting to Arin playing his Mario Maker 2 levels. But in the most recent episode, it starts off with a skill share ad that... well... there's a reason why I'm marking it under spoilers.

Ross's reaction really says everything you need to know.

If only you knew how bad things truly are.

If you want to see Ross's full reaction, here's the link to the start. I would recommend checking this out, because I am not doing justice on how absolutely awful this ad is.

A new interview with Barry Kramer has come out detailing his life and exploits thus far, alongside the many ups and downs that got his channel to where it is today. However, at the section labelled "The Final Year With Grumps", Barry just flat-out talks about why he actually left Game Grumps. No bullshit, no vagueness, just straight-up: "this is why I left". I'd recommend checking out a lot of the Grumps' sections because alongside Barry being so incredibly chill and humble, it's also super informative about his time within the Grumps' fanbase and about how unexpected the praise within the fanbase was to him (more specifically, how taken aback he was at things like his editing tutorial inspired a shitload of people), his own anxiety, and so much more

But to summarize that specific segment briefly:
Barry was essentially given what he'd referred to as "an empty plate" after Kevin had been hired. He'd been working with Grumps for so long and so fast, and had to fix a shitload of stuff in such a small amount of time because of YouTube bullshit over the course of years, that inevitably he had nothing left to do after he'd been replaced and had a lot more time on his hands. So he experimented with the live-action stuff, the podcast, Our House, and was finding that nothing really stuck until How 'Bout This Game came about, which gave Barry the boost he needed to start stuff solo. All of this was of his own doing, by the way: he basically just created this stuff just because "Well, let's see how this works" or that "Well fans have been wanting us to do more of this for awhile, so let's try it." A lot of which infamously didn't work, but Barry fully admits that he was fully to blame for how bad these were because writing without an outline or purpose was very much not his wheelhouse.

And eventually the final straw came when the direction of Game Grumps as a whole started to change and Arin wanted to create Game Grumps into a studio centered around himself and Dan exclusively. Barry just felt completely left out and not a part of the team anymore, and didn't like the way the wind was blowing, so he eventually just decided to say "fuck it" and continue solo.
Always found it interesting that most of the people from Jon's side of the circle or the ones from Arin's that enjoy Jon are all pretty straight up people. The NG peeps like Oney,Mick, Corey, Rodrigo, and Dave, pretty much just the guys who can take the jokes while dishing them out all to seem have a respect or enjoy Jon. Most of them not liking Arin in the end despite all starting from the same spot makes it even funnier imo.

I think the best part about this ad, is that it somehow makes Nostalgia Critic's ads actually look better in comparison.

Is Ross still affiliated with GG? He should be careful criticizing The Boss™ otherwise he'll end up like Ding Dong/Julian.

It looks like he's still using a game grumps email, but that's hardly conclusive evidence and he cites "his time on Game Grumps" like its a past tense thing. His Twitch account has the same blurb and his Youtube is run by his editor, and he cares it seems most about his Twitch account in terms of content (EG- in those videos of him watching GG run through his levels, he'll mute the Youtube video if he thinks Arin's funny penis poop jokes would get him in trouble on the platform, and straight up says, "the platforms have different rules", so he really wants to keep his Twitch channel from having problems). Ross seems friendlier with the company than some of the other ex parte members, though.

To be honest I'd guess if he's still "in" its in an extremely minor capacity, or something still just on paper while he does his own thing separate from The Arin and Dan show, but likely in practice he's no longer a participating member but ended things on better terms so there's still goodwill between all entities, and the company is willing to let him keep his established email account for his ongoing correspondences and such.

isn't Arin funding Ross's passion project too? The guy doesnt have much of a choice but to be good pals with Grumps and co.
Maybe. I remember he "stopped doing videos" to try and produce a big cartoon show thing for TV that the Grumps would fund and keep the IP of, but I think that was around like, Starbomb 2nd album? Maybe? My timeline might be way off, and animation takes fucking forever, but that's now seven years ago if my timeline is correct, and if its not lets say three or four. That's a long time for any company to throw money at for a Hail Mary personal passion project with no guarantee of return.

I don't think his current "Demon and Silmegirl" chracters Ross draws and animates a lot were related to that either. Again, might be wrong, but I think the project you're referring to was originally an extension of his "Game-O-Verse" Newgrounds cartoons. The demons I think are some collab thing with his current girlfriend.

Typing this out, I kinda remember seeing Ross do some conventions on his own Pre-COVID World, but after the ProJarad-Holly stuff, and seeing no reference on his booth to Game Grumps as a parent company or anything. It was all shirts and merch of his own characters, like the slime girl. I don't remember when these were exactly, they're probably photos buried in his twitter somewhere and I can't be bothered to go dig them out.

I think if you take what Barry said about having nothing to do anymore I think that's the only reason Arin was paying Ross to make the cartoon so he would have a job seeing as Steam Train and their other shows Ross was on were canned.

A bit late, but...

Ross has been mocking Arin recently for poorly playing games.

Ross said:
I feel like this would be a great case study for, like, design intent for level design and then how it's played by y'know, uh, the oblivious.

[...] but I don't know if I can Arin-proof it more than I have.

[The whole "P-switch" segment.]

It's like someone left a wrench between the two gears and they just can't turn. My god, dude.

Angrily eating an orange right now.

He almost had it out of just fumbling through it.

[...] so I'm not too upset. It was painful to watch, though, but... He did it.

Ross is so fucking based.

Edit to avoid doubleposting: Really interesting Ross theories. I feel as if it's very plausible he's trying to slowly but surely distance himself from the company, until one day he just isn't involved on any level anymore. Arin's way too unprofessional of a manchild to be able to cope with any other way of doing it TBH. So, Ross might be going slow and steady in order to avoid burning any bridges or Arin shittalking him down the line like all his other ex-friends... And now I feel bad for Ross... again. :heart-empty: Dude can't catch a break.

So I've been up to no good and have been taking a look at Game Grumps and friends financials in an effort to get to the bottom of "Arin has done illegal things with money." Now, this is the first time I've done something like this, so if someone with more experience wants to double check and make sure I haven't missed anything, go ahead.

Starting off with NSP, their company name is Dan Rules Inc, and we know it's NSP because it stationed in the same building as Game Grumps and the same address as Suzy's business. They made a total of $94,459.

Next up is Suzy and her company, The Wrong Crowd Inc. She made $94,459. Now this should already bring up some red flags, because this is the exact same number that Dan's company made.

Game Grumps themselves made $315,035. Keep in mind, Dan Rules and The Wrong Crowd combined made $188,918, and Game Grumps is more popular, sold more merch than Suzy, had Live Shows, donations from live streams, the $5 a month subscription service for their private Discord, Scribble Showdown tour might be included in here as well, and there could be more that I'm forgetting as well on top of Game Grumps' normal amount received from ad revenue. So that number seems a bit low to me. But the amount is derived from three different companies. Game Grumps Inc in Encino, same place as Suzy and NSP companies, which is owned by Arin and made $125,726, Game Grumps Inc in Glendale, which is owned by Brent and made $157,699, and Game Grumps Inc in Glendale, the same address as the last, with no known owner and made $31,610.

Outside of this, there is also Real Good Touring, which made $46,415 and the Game Grumps' video game development, Video Game Boy Properties LLC, which made $87,508.

All of this reaches a grand total of $637,876.

And with Arin and Dan doing Cameos at $125 a pop. Arin is sitting at 449 reviews so he has made at least $56,125 and Dan is sitting at 925 reviews, more than double Arin which I'm sure he is thrilled about, so about $115,625.

But remember, ThEy DoN't WaNt To FiRe ThEiR fRiEnDs.

Holy shit, that's a fucking red flag if I ever saw one. Now, DSP has proved that boomers run the IRS and they're fucking retarded, but does anyone know if two seperate companies operating in the same building filling identical earnings might cause the IRS to poke around?
