General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

I'm completely ignorant on the daily life, but from what I know of the current government, it seems like it'd be like living in a country run like Reddit. Users live or die based on upvotes and karma while Administration can ban your sub on a whim and mods are only interested in keeping the system clanking along long enough that they can get a chance to get the fuck out of there.
I mean the dad to one of my cousins got jailed for either extreme and prolonged tax evasion, or publicly preaching his religion like a retard (and is still doing it in prison, last I heard).

Outside of major persons? Its prob more of a case of keeping your head down if you don’t wanna get bopped. If you practice good internet safety habits (which is getting rarer in the west, I must admit), you won’t get fucked with.
I recently downloaded Azur Lane, and I just realized because of the chink outrage last year, we're never getting an Hololive rerun, or have the other girls get ships. Fuck those chinese-cocksuckers, can't even enjoy my gatcha games in peace.
That Hololive event was actually the reason I stopped playing for months because I got Aqua instead of Fubuki and got salty as hell
So fuck that event, all my homies hate the Holo event

Bring it back though I want to use my 50 Ayames
Unfortunately, Azur Lane doesn’t do collaboration reruns. I myself was a newfag when the Neptunia event was going on so I missed both Blanc and White Heart. Later on, I also pulled for Akagi-chan during the Kizuna event, which I later regretted for missing the battleship Ai.

A round 2 *might* be possible, but that’s gonna take a year or two, assuming the bugs relent, Hololive keeps their momentum and/or Manjuu makes their Tokyo office the main one. I wouldn’t get my hopes up if I were you.

I saved this image a while ago from 4chan and I never knew I would find an appropriate context for it.

Why does everyone seem to dislike Kiara? I haven't had time to watch her streams.
I say this as someone who isn't into her content, but hope she does well for herself:
  • She lays on the thirst for Calli a bit thick, even if we're all aware it's Kayfabe.
  • She tends to stress the fuck out any time the tiniest thing goes wrong.
    • She's better about this now, but it still pops up.
  • The whole Fast Food Franchisee turned Jim Jones gimmick is hard to appreciate sometimes.
  • Her super outgoing, upbeat, extroverty personality can be intimidating to introvert shut ins like me.
  • She showed early signs of being one more bad day away from complete breakdown and crossover into lolcowdom.
    • Again, better now, but you still see it pop up.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and just ask that you start providing links/evidence for this. We're not claiming firmly that she's in Texas, just that we think she's there at this point in time, surmised from her bringing up the weather during her 3rd Red Dead Redemption stream
There's also a chance that the recent reschedule was related to the power outage in Texas.

II can't speak for everyone, as there are a ton of different reasons.
For me personally, I think she is too loud and obnoxious (the fake voice she uses is a shame, as her natural voice is actually nce), and her humor is way too forced (such as the extremely forced Calli ship, including the teehee-stream). I also hate her in collabs, because she tends to speak over the others.

Hate is too strong a word. I just don't care about her. Doesn't mean she's bad or talentless.

Conversely, there are plenty of immensely popular streamers I don't watch at all, like Gura, Rushia, Noel, Marine, nearly everyone on nijisanji JP except Sango, Ange Katrina, Sister Claire and the stray catto.

I really doubt anyone here really straight up hates any talents, some are probably just not their style, the same way a lot of people dislike Kiara for being noisy other people either don't care or like her because of it. I mean I mildly dislike Matsuri for a lot of the reasons @ElUltimoMohicano said about the chicken but I don't mind Kiara at all.
If anything it's fun to make fun of or sympathize with her breakdowns so maybe that gives the impression

Not giving that cockroach the time of day, but if anyone wants to know who he's talking out, it's Fangz. I'm trying to scroll through her Twitter to find the bullshit she was talking about but that's taking a bit too much effort without proper dates of referral, so have some screenshots courtesy of a Discord friend.

And judging by this stuff: Yes, she was in fact one of the ringleaders who had it out for Kyuotto before she even debuted. Hell, apparently Kyuotto had been an art tracer and then apologized to the artists she traced long before she decided to get the avatar (search feature is your friend, kids) but some people couldn't let that shit go either; Fangz just went for the design that supposedly pandered to lolicons. I'm sure she would have gotten along GREAT with Gura and Luna.

How this cunt has any following is beyond me.

I like Lyrica and she has a sunny and wholesome enough personality that she probably could've grown her English Youtube audience even further had she just maintained a far more regular streaming schedule there instead of splitting her time between YT and Twitch - especially in the immediate aftermath of EN's surge in popularity. Sadly, IIRC, the vtubing thing is more of a sidegig for her so her content output isn't that much. I think she does a regular 9-5 job in Canada.

Personality-wise, she's wholesome fun. Streams mostly in English / Taglish (she's based in Canada) but she also does solely Tagalog streams for her Filipino audience. Content-wise, she does A LOT of chatting streams has a very engaging back & forth relationship with her chat.

If you're looking for someone to just play in the background while doing other shit, she's a good choice. She doesn't really stream a lot of games except for the occasional Among Us collab along with her regular Tetris and Arknights streams. I think the most compelling tidbit I got off her is that she has collabed with the ID Gen1 girls and has mentioned that Moona actually invited her to join Hololive ID - which she said she declined, citing her unfamiliarity with ID language/culture but that she'd welcome the opportunity should Hololive decide to expand the branch to HoloSEA.

Huh, didn't know she's also based in Canada. I'll try catching her streams on Youtube. Not sure if I wanna spend time learning about Twitch though, I always get lost on that site. It's also interesting that she got invited to audition for Hololive ID. It's always boggled my mind how ID seems to have a bigger presence on the anime/manga/VTuber market compared to the
It's my understanding that Lyrica splits between twitch and YouTube either because the former is timed for Western audiences and the latter to Philippine audience, or because she's somewhere in Domo's circle (there's a now-lost interview). Also her seison't schtick is funny without being grating.

P.S. her Tetris streams have a trend of her jokingly mocking t-spinners to the point that she finally turned off the bonus last time. They also have the tendency of attracting non-fan Tetris pros as of late. She even triggered the 100+ player super Lobby mode on tetr.io days before the official HardDrop event

The main reason that thing is not going to enter hololive is because toxic asstwats are going directly to the trash can, cover can tolerate some lewd here and there but being a stupid drama bitch is definitely a big red flag
That's likely one of the main reasons Cover corp has been so successful so far. They keep the drama down which prevents things from just becoming the standard Youtube cancer.

I only hope that the actually good indies can rise above the sheer garbage that is swirling around in the ENvtuber scene.
That UK Vtuber girl, is she clean from drama? I honestly didn't see any of Indie Vtuber expect Uto and Kana, God I hope Uto comeback with a bang I really miss her.
