Every Fire Dept has their crazy frequent fliers. But tfust me on this, Yaniv is something truly above and beyond in that regard. For most Fire Department Frequent Fliers the Firefighters have a certain degree of empathy for. They're annoying, and the Chief will start screening the call before tying up a bus. But even at their worst I've never seen anything on the level of Yaniv. And I worked the East Village during the Aids years. At least when they sexually harrased you they were polite about it and not generally creepy.

They're not banned, in fact something something diversity is encouraged. So this is an incredibly sexist "alibi" for JY, because I refuse to believe there are 0 women in the Langley fire department.

I believe that your average female firefighter is probably far too mature, and most importantly in too good a shape physically, for Yaniv to be legitimately attracted to her. He's made it quite clear that he prefers the type of (prepubescent) girl he could literally suffocate under his pendulous mass.

The transgender community thread gives literally hundreds of examples of dudes with autogynephilia whose "euphoria" goes into overdrive when they expose it to the world, and make unwilling people play along. There seems to be no shortage of fetish fuel for them -- even being addressed by female pronouns seems to give them so much of a rush it is worth causing themselves enormous career and relationship upsets. Yaniv has simply turned the typical practices up a notch or two in a way that makes it hard to pretend that it's not purely about getting off.

I used to be a bit of a fan of Gore Vidal (although I've never read Myra Breckinridge, weirdly enough, being a little turned off by the plot summary on the back cover) and I remember him mentioning somewhere in his book on Julian the Apostate that the court eunuchs, who were sexually incapable of penetration and presumably would be among the more virtuous citizens, actually were models of depravity: their inability to reach satiety driving them in their sexual frustration to increasingly bizarre and wicked acts. Ever since I have been curious whether there is truth to this: certainly there are people featured on this site who seem to pick up dozens of new fetishes after removing the equipment necessary to fulfil them, which is of course ironic and hilarious, though I would like to know how much of these claims are performative, etc. There are a couple cases I can think of involving inveterate coom-posters meeting up and seemingly sharing, a bit to their embarrassment in the recounting, a mostly chaste weekend together.
