MauLer and J Longbone both said they weren't fighting, and that the interaction was friendly. But the phrasing JLB used at MauLer was definitely aggressive and contained some resentment. Though that might just be how she talks. I doubt anything will come of it, either way.
I don't know what he originally did, but he was first suspended sometime around early 2018. He made his second account later in the year, which was suspended when Twitter realized he was trying to circumvent his ban.
It did read kinda hostile, I thought this was going to ignite drama. Who knows, maybe Rags read the whole thing and got mad. Maybe Jay is fuming that nobody is fighting JLong.
Jay is saying nothing on Twitter. He doesn't really retweet or talk to other EFAP members on Twitter that often, as far I as know. Many of the people he interacts with have a LGBT or Trans Flag next to their names, however. Perhaps the fight with JLong led to him retreating to his new friends, and is trying to distance himself from them at least on Twitter. Almost all of his twitter is either talking about Dr. Who or inane garbage like this.
That scene could almost be seen as an synonym for EFAP.
These people don't seem that bad, at least from these screenshots. I just wish they would interact with us instead of just lurking. I do admit that post I made was overly speculative and that I am definitely guilty of developing an image of MauLer in my head that may not be entirely accurate to reality, though.
I don't tend to read much of what they say over there besides just checking on EFAP members and what they say, but some do seem alright and have been willing to call out members of EFAP on their stuff. But on the other hand, there is plenty of them on there that seem to be pretty blind to any criticism of EFAP and Mauler and spout the usual memes as responses to criticism.
My bet is on the Dark Knight trilogy. By slowly developing his "brand new hot take" I assume he means talking it over with Mauler for his blessing.
That's the double-edge sword with fanbases, you get reasonable and well-mannered people mixed in with the die-hard cultists. There's always good people behind every maniac, though I don't feel the "image" we have of Mauler is entirely inaccurate when you consider his actions on Twitter. He's like Anthony Fantano, a well-mannered guy on theneedledrop and complete cunt on Twitter.
That was my first thought too but that is far from a 'hot' take. The Nolan Trilogy has always had detractors. It might be the Burton Batman movies too.
There's not really many "beloved" superhero trilogies out there. You have Blade, the original X-Men films, and I guess probably the Tim Burton films (though that's only two movies) but they're not particularly relevant. You have the MCU trilogies but they're not really that beloved. From the sound of it, it looks like he's aiming for another trilogy people think are classics and use them shit on current superhero films like with the Raimi movies. And I think the Dark Knight trilogy fits that description.
That's what I was thinking. That's all Southpaw cares about and plot holes, no matter how minor, were the backbone of his entire line of attack on SM2. It is obvious that's all he looks for from what I saw of the argument livestream. He's one of 'those' critics. But he has to get through his TLoU2 review first which may take a couple months. He may make a stink about his new hot takes on twitter beforehand, though. If he attacks the Dark Knight, however, he better be ready for a storm even worse than with SM2. MauLer too if he sides with him again, which he might.
Man it's been roughly 9 months since TLoU2 came out/was relevant, who would even care enough to watch it, he's even later than Mauler when it comes to talking about that.
The critical difference is that MauLer has still not made a review of it. Southpaw is actually being more timely in a way. MauLer has only talked about it on EFAP (I'm pretty sure Southpaw was part of those discussions too) and livestreamed it. Also, it should be remembered that MauLer had never played the first one until he heard the second was so bad and played both the first and second one at once to jump on the bandwagon.
Are people really so assblasted at TLOU2 and in so much denial about Joel that they're going to pretend like he was actually a really good person who didn't do nothing all along? Because he wasn't exactly the nicest person in the first game either.
I haven't played either of the games, so enlighten me if I'm wrong, but from what I've heard people aren't particularly upset about Joel being portrayed as grey or even that he died, but that they didn't portray him as nuanced or as well written as last time. They saw many of his actions as an insult to him as a beloved character and an insult to the audience for liking him. I agree though on the other point. Outside of the Game Awards circus a few month ago, it hasn't been particularly relevant. I'm predicting that in Southpaw's review he will shout "THIS WON AN AWARD FOR _______!" or something along those lines.
