Arin Hanson / Egoraptor / Grump - "Hey I'm Grump!" of Game Grumps fame, hypocritical SJW doxer, shat himself recording a let's play

Brainlet here: I get that two companies having the exact same earnings is super suspicious, but what would the motive here be for Arin and co?
Less earnings reported, less taxes paid I imagine. The more money the governmant doesn't know you have, the more you keep to yourself.

So I've been up to no good and have been taking a look at Game Grumps and friends financials in an effort to get to the bottom of "Arin has done illegal things with money." Now, this is the first time I've done something like this, so if someone with more experience wants to double check and make sure I haven't missed anything, go ahead.

Starting off with NSP, their company name is Dan Rules Inc, and we know it's NSP because it stationed in the same building as Game Grumps and the same address as Suzy's business. They made a total of $94,459.

Next up is Suzy and her company, The Wrong Crowd Inc. She made $94,459. Now this should already bring up some red flags, because this is the exact same number that Dan's company made.

Game Grumps themselves made $315,035. Keep in mind, Dan Rules and The Wrong Crowd combined made $188,918, and Game Grumps is more popular, sold more merch than Suzy, had Live Shows, donations from live streams, the $5 a month subscription service for their private Discord, Scribble Showdown tour might be included in here as well, and there could be more that I'm forgetting as well on top of Game Grumps' normal amount received from ad revenue. So that number seems a bit low to me. But the amount is derived from three different companies. Game Grumps Inc in Encino, same place as Suzy and NSP companies, which is owned by Arin and made $125,726, Game Grumps Inc in Glendale, which is owned by Brent and made $157,699, and Game Grumps Inc in Glendale, the same address as the last, with no known owner and made $31,610.

Outside of this, there is also Real Good Touring, which made $46,415 and the Game Grumps' video game development, Video Game Boy Properties LLC, which made $87,508.

All of this reaches a grand total of $637,876.

And with Arin and Dan doing Cameos at $125 a pop. Arin is sitting at 449 reviews so he has made at least $56,125 and Dan is sitting at 925 reviews, more than double Arin which I'm sure he is thrilled about, so about $115,625.

But remember, ThEy DoN't WaNt To FiRe ThEiR fRiEnDs.

This is very likely the case, but total Revenue should be reported instead of net profit. Regarding the same revenue amount, having two companies under one umbrella reporting the same revenue is actually not that uncommon, especially given they are technically small businesses.

The government doesn't really care about income on this small a scale and will often let small businesses get away with a estimation of revenue, as long as the number is not unreasonably low or high. However, that can only last so long and the more a company practices this the more suspicious tax collectors will get.

I expect the recent rumors of audits and financial fraud investigations have come as a result of the (obviously) fraudulent charity + GG as a company growing much larger with a spotty financial reporting history and the tax collectors no longer buying the shoddy paperwork.

I can buy Dan making that much, but Suzy? Please. It's pretty clear that Suzy's thing is the dumping ground for excess cash. Since they're both not quite at $100K, I have to assume that it was done deliberately to avoid some kind of penalty for making triple digits. It would be surprising if Dan and Arin didn't have a deal worked out for this. They keep a record of the money Dan pumps into Suzy's business, and Dan gets his money back tax free. It probably benefits Arin and Suzy in some way, too, but I know next to nothing about that kind of thing.

...God that's a lot of red flags, holy shit.

Am retarded, what's the bottom line here? That they're underreporting their income?

I feel like I could have explained this better, but I agree. As harsh as this is, Suzy's biggest claim to fame will always be being Arin's wife, and it is her dream to open up a store filled with merch that she created. If she is making almost 100K simply from online sales, then fulfilling her dream and opening up a store should be her next step. But considering how overpriced her merch is, I'm honestly surprised anyone buys it.

If for some reason it is true however and she is making almost 100K, then it's pretty safe to assume that Game Grumps sold 1.5 to 2 times that in merch at the very least. That means about 150-200K made in merch sales, and when Game Grumps recorded a little over 300K total, if you add on live shows which are probably around the 50-100K mark as shown by Dan's company, along with streams, YouTube Ads, etc, suddenly 300K doesn't seem to add up.

What also doesn't make sense is how their touring only made half of what NSP made.

Why would you go on doing live shows (20 shows over ~58 days) to make a fraction of your overall money (NSP did 13 shows over the whole year)? I'm basing this off the Real Good Touring info so maybe I'm fucking up somewhere but this smells.

Finally upgraded from lurking in order to make this comment. Not a GG fan by any means but I'm pretty sure that site is horseshit. Let's look at some other internet YouTuber companies:
Easy Allies also made $94,459, which is almost impossible for them to have made the same as Dan and Suzy (https://www.dnb.com/business-direct...ies_llc.72919ed392bcb360d7ce21c073fc4f56.html)
Colin Moriarty also made the exact same amount (https://www.dnb.com/business-direct...and_llc.23792c46da3bbd1aded15389388f6edf.html)
Ah, and of course The Runaway Guys made the exact same amount as well (https://www.dnb.com/business-direct...uys_llc.d1dbe0d66376b42f2e007157818d1948.html)

Three completely unrelated companies, all the same exact number. The list could go on I'm sure. This site just clearly makes its data up so I don't think it can be used in some "gotcha" moment.
If I posted anything wrong let me know, I'm new and pathetic.

So 94459 is probably some go to ballpark estimate for D&B?

Well, that's not as juicy as we hoped, but good thing you caught that early, gibbs.

My guess is that it's a ballpark but I'd doubt any of their ballpark guesses are even remotely close. Easy Allies makes ~$35k/month on Patreon alone, not counting YouTube and Twitch earnings. Obviously way over the $94,459. Same for Moriarty, who has over 10k monthly members on his Patreon. The site also says that he's headquartered in San Francisco, but he hasn't been there in around 4 years. TRG is probably way under that estimate, with them only getting around 1m views on YouTube per month, and no other monetization methods. My guess is that they give a vague ballpark for companies like this, and then use the more specific numbers like $94,459 as a way to make it look more "official" and just hope no one goes snooping around too long.

Shoutouts to Arin's favourite game getting a HD re-release :)

I've never looked at D&B listings before, but I'm curious now, are these (hypothetically, if these numbers are accurate) net or gross? And how many employees are comprised of all these corporations? Add them up and you get 46, but there's no way in hell there's not overlap, and I don't follow Le Grumps close enough to know a roster, so lets just say 23 by cutting that number in half. Not the most academic method, but these figures might not even be genuine, so whatever, lets play this like a mental exercise.

23 employees, lets say. How much is each employee getting paid in salary? Most all of these are in California right? Average salary for California according to Google is 32k for an individual, though it looks like to "live comfortably" it requires around 63-75k, depending. Some of this is Silicon Valley and Hollywood and places like them fucking up the curve, much like the difference between living in New York the state and New York City, and whatever the fuck living comfortably is. Whatever, lets go with M'lord Google's number, 32k.

32,000 x 23 = 736,000. Compare this to the (again, hypothetical) 638,000 if you add all the companies up, and you're actually coming up short.

Lets run this again, but with 16 employees. Why 16? Its the largest amount of employees in a single corporations listing, I think the one under Brent. We'll for this exercise just assume its 16 people, but 4 out of the 16 will be involved with Real Good Touring, and 7 / 16 of them will help Dan Rules. 32,000 x 16 = 512,000. That number is under our 638,000 but that's not a huge net profit, especially since we're not considering things like tax witholding, health insurance, or work equipment / cameras / computers / initial orders for merch to be resold / adornments for the offices as seen in previous years, etc.

There's a lot this isn't considering, like different individuals getting different salaries, knowing the real, hard number of employees, knowing if these numbers are anything but estimations or bullshit, but following this mental exercise with the listed figures, its very possible Arin and Co are indeed running thin and are struggling to keep everyone on payroll.

Has Alex Hirsch done anything lulzy?
The usual TDS. If someone reminds him hes a fucking cartoonist and absolutely no one followed him for his opinion on politics he sperg out on them in quote retweets every time. If I remember right he got a cartoon deal with Fox shortly after finishing GF that nothing has come from that so it’s possible he killed it by his own hand. He also constantly bites the hand that fed him talking shit about his time working for Disney while his girlfriend(?) still helms a cartoon with them. So more or less in the same vein as Arin.
Edit: I just remembered both Alex and Arin have mutual friends in Dan Harmon so it is possible that they’re aquatinted.

Him trolling a voter fraud hotline in-character as Soos and Stan was pretty funny though.
