General gist of the post is that Dream knowingly dated a girl called Sambvnny (aka Glqmorous, lilbvnny, Thot etc.) and is trying to shield her and cover up how she would prey on underage people and chat with them in overtly sexual ways repeatedly. A few of those people came forward since then to give their stories about interacting with her and how she would often try to psychologically manipulate them. As it turns out, this Sam person was also one of the main people who gave Dream a lot of help with his Internet presence to begin with, including the design for his "character" and teaching him how to use Twitter and Instagram properly.

If you look at the QRTs, you'll see that most of the stans hating on him are mainly saying that his fanbase is full of bigots (citation needed), and how "one person can't control millions of fans" (though they probably say this exact same thing with PewDiePie and his fans).

I'd wager that everyone involved in this is only teen age or very early 20s at best, so I wouldn't be remotely surprised that all they know how to do still is yell into the void on Twitter instead of using any of the systems that the adults put into place to mitigate these situations more effectively.

The bland people are there for the "im so depressed, plz giv asspats" crowd, the over-the-top people are there for the "ive got QUIRKY CRACKHEAD ENERGY"/being-loud-and-obnoxious-is-totally-a-personality-trait crowd (although the two groups may or may not be the same people lol).

As for how they garnered the fanbase, tacitly encouraging stan culture probably had something to do with it. Kpop was probably losing its luster, so to speak, and the zoomers needed a new fandom to base their personalities off of (pathetic but normal when you grow up on the internet). That fandom would have been smplive and the callmecarson crowd, but those guys disavowed that shit right out of the gate, and the stans ended up settling into where they are now with dream, for better or for worse. Probably worse with his pedophile ex-gf lmao
