I think that back in the days before the pill, being a woman was inexorably tied up with being a mother. For most of society it was the sole purpose of a woman's life.
If womanhood and motherhood were still seen as synonymous, then MTFs, who have no capacity for (nor any real interest in), actual motherhood, wouldn't make sense. They only "feel like a woman" in all the sexual and fetishy ways, which have only become part of what women "are" since reliable contraception allowed sex and motherhood to be separated.
Its only fairly recently in the history of humans that being a woman didn't automatically mean being pregnant or breastfeeding from puberty until menopause.

I wonder if there will ever be a day of reckoning for big social media sites enabling all this shit. They provide a platform for groomers and trans cultists, they publicly virtue-signal about how they support Trans Rights™, and on top of this they're quick to suppress anyone questioning the trans narrative or giving even slight pushback against the accelerated craziness. (I'm still a little bitter about how r/Gendercritical and adjacent subreddits were suddenly banned with no warning and for no actual rule-breaking.)
I'm thankful this thread (and the SRS one) exist and are fairly safe from being censored. Props to you all for cataloging everything and being so informative.
