I think it's fair to say that his years of ranting about anime had a fair bit of introspection. As you say, it usually leads to positive results, it just depends on what you do with the information. I think it was positive for digi for a while, as he tempered his expectations and managed his substance intake relatively well. Things just start going to shit as you cede control to your base impulsive desires.

If I remember correctly, Digi is hoping for the statute of limitations of 10years for his tax debt to expire, at least he was gloating about it on the dickshow discord. What he doesn't know is, that the IRS can suspend that period of expiration and usually, unless one is an accounting genius/rich or flees the country, the IRS will collect one way or the other or you could be forced into declaring bankcruptcy if you have no assets left.
There have been many, many people who thought they were smart enough to fuck the IRS.

Yeah, I remember a video on his Digi Afterdark channel (I know it goes by some other name now) about weed and how he despite being fun and all, the THC tolerance would make it harder to get the same high. So as a result, he had to basically take breaks so he didn't spend more money. Essentially just trying to have some self-control. Though I'm not sure how fucked-up he tries to be; whether just a bit of a buzz, to where you get easily distracted while talking, or whatnot.
I have no clue about the studio thing. I guess it's just another form of his goal of having like-minded people making random shit.
