In fairness, Steve King isn't that bad a catch. He was primaried out recently, if AF does what AF says it aims to do and primary out republicans who aren't on their side - then if they succeed in getting Steve King back in congress then I'd actually say it's not over for them.

That being said, with the FBI hot on them, a fracture in the movement and the long list of things they can just throw at them, I doubt they'll be in a position to set up the Groyper Phonebanks to back Steve King anytime soon.

I like King (probably the best elected Republican in my life), but his career disproves Nick’s strategy of entryism in the GOP as viable.

Once the GOP decided he was no longer useful (that capturing the far right fringe wasn’t worth the controversy it would invite) they brutally threw him under the bus, siding with the Democrats to strip him of committee seats and endorsing his opponent. King was coerced into voting with everyone else to cuck himself as a sort of humiliation ritual.

King had connections, optics, money, and a lot of electoral victories under his belt. But he was gatekept out because the GOP has absolutely no desire at all to pursue genuine nationalism or truly conserve anything, except as empty rhetoric during election years. They can’t be fooled into acting against their nature. If King failed to change them, what chance does Nick have?
