Even then, they use it as just another way to make people uncomfortable. The funny thing about performative hysteria is that it goes away the moment it's inconvenient. So to the brutish AGP in the grocery, COVID no longer exists if it means getting scolded by some lady for looming over her in line like a hungry ogre. I stated this EXACT same thing (just used a lot more words and compared the troons to first amendment frauditors who do the same things). And funnily enough it becomes "stupid" and "unconstitutional" and "I have a medical exemption" when it also suits them.
