I don't think it's "simping" to feel a reasonable amount of sympathy for Ody, and give him a platform to vent. That's pretty normal. We're assholes, but not sociopaths.

I've noticed there's some obnoxious "scope creep" with the definition of simping. Like, I've noticed some people lose their goddamned minds if you say the most mildly positive and highly specific thing about EVS.

To me, simping is best defined as the shit with Martina, or that horrifying missive by Bowsette to Piper. It's simping when it's undeserved and cringe.

I have zero problems believing Ody got taken advantage by Liam.

Re: Nerd Wonder, here's a fascinating flashback to a few months ago, the first time @FROG and Malin came onto @NasserRabadi13's Afterlife show, which was just after Liam had famously spazzed himself silly over Nasser's return to CG, to the amusement of all who witnessed it.


You can see here, Frog is pleasantly surprised to see Nerd Wonder show up in the chat. But now we know the story behind it. It was Liam. she was creeped out by Liam. This is a thing that girls do, when they're creeped out by a creepy guy. They run into the arms of a safe guy, in this case Nasser.

So this absolutely seals the deal on the phantasmic nature of Liam's insinuations of creepiness against Nasser, being projections of his own malignant desires, from his own subconscious, onto an enemy he is threatened by (Nasser).

Oh no. I've been told that I shouldn't expose shit behavior from "my side". Whatever that's supposed to mean. The whole CG/adjacent community is so tribal, that unless something slips past the firewall and is egregious enough, it gets zero mention because you can't make " your side" look bad.

Liam did everything opposite of how you're supposed to do manga. Manga is low cost and high volume. He went high cost, and overprinted.

Tankōbon is basically printed on newsprint. It's essentially a disposable product. Nobody gives a shit about preserving it. Collector's editions (Aizōban) use better quality paper, but not ridiculously so. It's still mostly b&w. Xenotype would fall into the latter category.

The decision to print the pages on cover stock, and do a colorized version, is baffling. He destroyed his own margins. And that's even before you get into shady shit. In addition to being a grifter, he's proven to everybody he doesn't know what the fuck he's doing.

As a weeb, I will say he's a poser, and his waifu is probably shit.

As annoying as Feminists in comics can be, this just goes to show that they've got a point. Imagine being a young woman and accepting work from Liam Grey, only to have this happen to you.

The funniest part is that he makes his "romantic" pass, she flatly turns him down. No interest. None. Liam then worries that he's blown their friendship, and she, probably hoping to keep her gig, reassures him and gives him an inch. He takes a mile. "fUcK yOuR bRaInS oUt!!!"

I also liked Liam's confession that most women only like him because he's "good at sex and has money."
