SCP Foundation - Creepypasta with roid rage - now ITT: SCP fans

This is old news and it’s not really important. We should just move on from the topic as a whole.

Edit: Please also put more effort into your posts while the thread is this busy (spellchecking, etc.). Don’t feel like you have to rush to contribute.
I never once put effort into paying attention to how I spell but I will try because you are the first person to ask and not tell me.

Back on point, I think the things to focus on that I have provided evidence with that dovetails is the Yurt gang and associated corruption. Secondarily, the ss have failed their basic duty to care by putting collective over individual rights.

So to categorize:

1. The ss have been corrupted by djkaktus and the Yurt gang
2. The ss has abrogated their principles and stated rules & procedures because deleting a lot of pages so they can be re-written by fresh authors sounds scary/hard/disruptive(?) and as such they are no longer the legitimate “main” Wiki.

Everything else is detail beneath these twin infernal heads, yeah?

Just went through the PMs with Croquembouche, the next person down the Yurt list. Still not super interesting, mostly just discussion of nu-SCP again. I do find it interesting that there was an entire strategy for getting staff to adopt this theme, though.

I'm a bit confused as to what the evidence exactly is for The Yurt having corruption/control over the staff, could you clarify?

Yeah that was one of the first big projects that we all got behind in one front and pushed through, iirc

I was one of the ringleaders and I posted how everyone involved was working on staff projects with no accountability and actively seeking to circumvent normal staff procedures so we could empower ourselves, to an end we told ourselves would eventually result in the Wiki being “better” for our power. It was abusing the rules of the Site Charter by making a secret political party the screenshots and now this conversation reflects that behind closed doors scheming .

I'm seconding this, while all the docs you provide are nice, we're still depending on your admittedly biased version of events. It's obvious though that staff is a lot more divided than what they let on, and kaktus should probably be banned

I think I have shown strong evidence that there was a faction of staff who secretly coordinated to impose their will on the rest of the organization. I know it’s true because I was there and saw it as an active&leading participant.

He would have been banned years ago if he was anyone else, but because he's a highly-rated author he gets a pass. How he can possibly claim that staff are biased against him is beyond me.
This brings to me a fun memory I could look for in my discord chats. At some point last year or the other, Kaktus got really ill, and when he returned to chat (SCPD), he started randomly picking out people (I think one guy) and telling them "I know what you said." He had done this before, in an unofficial IRC chat; he'd told someone he read their messages - implied to be offensive or hurtful -- while in pain and in bed.

Official IRC staff punished him for this near instantly, so I brought up a report to #Site17 showing more caps of him doing that. ProcyonLotor received me saying that he was at work and that, while it was no fault of my own, he was angry and wanted me to make it quick -- which to me came off as something among the lines of "this better be worth it, or I will be angry", which isn't a fair posture to have when you're willingly online performing staff duty, but that's disagreeable. In response to my report he said kaktus was "allowed to be angry" and that he "wasn't feeling like discussing it any further", despite staff having punished him for the exact same thing very little ago.

This is likely in Kaktus' O5, I'll go looking for it.

EDIT: Turns out, he did this to me exactly too after I criticized NuSCP for crashing my PC, lol. I'll see if I have screencaps of this.

Procyon probably cared less because it was an unofficial Discord and not IRC. Personally, I found the hair-splitting they did over the IRC incident funny, since I really don't think this particular incident was that big of a deal.

What is and isn't a big deal to normal people is often inverted for SCP staff

They hate the idea of using Discord. Discord is not hard to moderate, but they pretend it is. It's way more faithful than any IRC client or server I've ever used, but SCP staff refuse to use it, because IRC gives them access to vital user data that can be used for extremely harmful things, as discussed earlier in the thread.

What user data does it give that discord doesnt? Do I need to delete my IRC account?

They have their own personal IRC network now, which allows them to view the IPs of everyone who joins, and they really like having this information. They even boot people for using VPNs. As we've seen earlier in the thread, one particular staff member is also fond of reporting random trolls to their ISPs.

From what I understand, direct access to IP addresses, ISPs, relative location, stuff like that. They ban VPNs, making their server insanely unsafe for pretty much anyone that isn't staff(And any staff they deem unworthy of keeping around. I'm pretty sure a lot of this is borderline illegal. If RPC beat SCP at one thing, it's proving that managing a Discord is in fact very easy to do for a large community.

Or their parents if they’re kids that happened at least twice that I can recall.

All you have to do to see the difference in the RPC and SCP user experience is compare and contrast the Recent Forum Posts feed.
