So Reddit is conflicting between shitting on Kiara for waking up late for stream, and organizing a love bomb because she's apparently stressed, depressed and crying at the end of the stream. Anyone got interesting doompost?

Edit: FBK just beat San after a stream and 84 mins. She sound super happy and overwhelmed. Even have runny nose. Congratulation, Cat friend!

This makes me curious if there's any contractual stuff in Hololive for relationships with Holostars.
The way Astel and Ollie are acting is exactly how some friends I've known over the years acted before ending up in a long distance relationship with eachother (with one pair even ending up married). They may deny it with the "she's just a sister" "she's just a bro" talk but if their friendship continues like this they'll start developing something in the backstage.

given they may have predated the international explosion, it could have been traditional idol contracts forbidding relationships...

I don't know how legit it is, but I believe I have read an announcement from Cover around the mid 2020 that said they use to implement a restrictive rule about interaction between Lives and Stars, and that the rule is removed from now on.
Aster also mention recently that there is no rule stopping the interaction between two branch, but there are many thing to consider on a case by case basis before they can openly interact to each other. He then said that talking to Lives in an special event or big group is fine, but 1-1 interaction might bother him or them a bit.
Simply put, it's now depend on each individual. FBK, Matsuri, Ollie, and a few other interact with Stars just fine, but for super introvert like Aqua or Pekora, it might never happen just because of their personality.

it may not in contract but its a general knowledge and pretty common thing in idol entertaiment. and ofcourse its no longer a secret even idol are dating behind the scene. yes even if they are not an idol, at least Astel try to distance himself knowing it may affect either her income or fans going ape shit. although knowing Ollie, i guess the fans get it either. whetever if they are going to developed a relationship or not as long as not pushing them too much. even if their ship aint sail, her sister ellie prolly willing to take a seat anyway

So less of an explicit requirement and more of watching out for the gachikois and other.
 
I haven't heard good reason to believe there's any managerial restrictions behind collaborations between male and female talent being rare.

Fubuki and Oga get together pretty often, and in fact I think it's been brought up in this thread before but the way Fubuki tries to not play into the "wife" meme, I wouldn't be surprised one bit if it came out Fubuki and Oga are going out. Then again that could very well be because there's so little male/female dynamic in Holopro, so it sticks out a bit more.

I think this is the right idea, but I'd also extend it into what audience they play into.

Sora is the untouchable, and rarely collabs with anyone, but even she's trying to reverse that. She even called up Rob on his birthday stream. In fact if I were playing strategically, I might say Sora could break that ice herself if she wanted to and show the rest of the talent it's okay. In fact I'll make a bet -- the first Holostars EN collab outside their own group will be with Sora. Make your wagers.

Rushia knows where her money is made 100%. She dove head first into playing to the parasocial romance angle. Even one of the "male" vtubers she collabs with most often, and even plays into romance bait with, is only acceptable because Tamaki creates a fucked up loophole.

But as far as actual banning of romantic involvement, Fubuki and Oga makes me think otherwise, and we'll have to see where this Ollie/Astel stuff goes, though it's early enough that they're still both trying to convince themselves moreso than the audience that there's nothing there.

Since you bring this up, I also would like to add the side of the character/image they want to create for their character.
Suisei crafted her "Hoshimachi Suisei" as a 'Idol' and she try her best not to be lewd or have romantic ship. Not because she's being systematically oppressed by male-dominant entertainment business view on woman, but because that's the image of an Idol she aspire to be, a pure star for everyone (who also happen to murder innocent people for fun). The girl know what she want and she will have it no matter what.

Good on Fubuki for beating Sans, but I've been watching Marine's Undertale run and it's just on another level. The love and excitement for the game, the amazing display of her vocal talent with all the voices. I've just been blown away. That said, I'm still enjoying Fubuki's run quite a lot, it's pretty obvious she has ton of love for the game as well.

If we aren't talking about regular official collabs how often do Hololivers collab with each other? Like maybe once a week? With how much they have to do apart from streaming I'm not surprised we don't see them collab more outside of their fellow girl circle. I don't think Hololive doesn't collab with Holostars much because of something malicious or keeping up with the idol image.

Look at HoloID, they don't have to go to dance classes or singing lessons to the studio, they got more free time to pick and choose who to collab with, and I think that's why we get to see them interact with Holostars or people outside of Holopro much more.

Also, I can see quite a few reasons why a Holostar would want to collab with Hololiver, but I don't see reasons why Hololiver would want to collab with Holostar.

I will stand by my Astel Ollie ship.

If it was just them playing Apex together that one time, sure.

It it was just the fact that they started playing Apex together kind of often, okay.

She starts calling him her "Aniki", well ok.

She starts saying she wants to do duet karaoke with him using Disney songs.

She Freudian slips and calls him "Oniichan" during Apex, and gets rage-embarassed about it during the post-stream.

And now he's starting out his "No guys she's just like my sister!" followed with "...but she's like the only woman I feel like I can talk to." in the same breath.

All I have on Fubuki and Oga is that he's the only male she collabs with on a regular basis, so I could go either way on it, I'd be more surprised to hear they weren't going out, but it wouldn't take much to convince me either direction.
