Boogie misrepresents a lot of things about his suicidal episode. He's...sort of(?) telling the truth. Nobody knew until he started talking openly about it. But there's a lot that he leaves out or just plain misrepresents.
First off, it's easiest to understand with a timeline.

7/24/19 - Boogie's birthday
On 6/26/19 Boogie gets into DMs with a small youtuber that also posts on SamandTolki. It's probably worth mentioning that this is exactly one week after Etika yeeted himself off the Manhattan Bridge and all the youtubers were talking about it. Boogie loves attention, and inserting himself into topics he should stay quiet on. Boogie already made a slip up when Etika was missing and made a joke about Etika on a stream while describing himself as "a titan of strength".
Boogie gets into DMs with eyeofsol and complains about reddit and even kiwifarms, then tried to make her "promise to keep a secret". He tells her he is gonna donate his money all to charity on his birthday that year, and then kill himself a few years later when his fans forget him.

7/10/19 - Boogie goes around vidcon and tells everyone he can that he's suicidal. There are several accounts of people who were not friends with him, or who had a minor disagreement with him in the past that he tried to approach them and corner them with a patronizing "it's too late for me, but be better to others and learn from this" horse shit. One account even said Boogie was taking down girl's numbers who felt sorry for him.
Keemstar sets up a call to intervene with Boogie and has A LOT of big name youtubers on it. Boogie later would throw Keemstar under the bus for this when Keemstar vs. H3 feud started up, and would say Keemstar never took him seriously.
Boogie's fans were starting to learn of this too and some even called welfare checks on him while he was at vidcon out of concern, which later led to the SWAT saga.
On 7/17 McJuggernuggets uploaded a video to his channel where he, Kidbehindacamera and Boogie staged a suicide attempt for Boogie at vidcon where he flops into a pool but McJuggernuggets heroicly saves him.
On 7/24 Boogie never goes through with donating everything, saying he chose to live, and the rest is history.
So...he's correct, nobody knew and then everybody knew. Was it real? Personally I think he was just riding off the energy from Erika's death and wanted attention. He destroyed a lot of people's vidcon enjoyment that year. And eyeofsol had every right to make it public, you don't just keep secrets when someone tells you they are gonna commit suicide.
