I recall there is old forgotten lore that since Linda didn't work, she spent a lot of her time involved with other old church ladies and got heavily involved in doing charity work. It wouldn't be farfetched for her to bring lil Philip with her to do some church volunteer shit.

I’ve always considered the Farms as a sort of voyeur community for online degenerates and absolutely unique specimens of the human race. I love to gawk, to overanalyze, and participate in the occasional shaddenfreude. Most KFers collectively rejoice that they’re not anything like the lolcows they’re watching and to share their thoughts and feelings as to why/ how/ when this person became the complete amalgam of failures, mediocrity, weirdness that we’re all keen on witnessing. It’s definitely one of my weirdest hobbies but also one of my favorites.
Phil is simply fascinating to me; that someone with no discernible skills or talent is able to eke out an existence that’s relatively more financially successful than the average working class person is a spectacle in and of itself. But as we’ve all known and seen, it doesn’t come without an immense amount of hardship and sacrifice (trade-offs in dignity, long-term financial well-being, pride, happiness, health, the list is almost endless).
Unfortunately, we inevitably get some drive-by faggots who come in here and inexplicably want their two minutes of fame. I never understood why you would ever publicly attempt to gain clout as being the fucking loser who “took down DSP,” seriously, nobody outside of this little community truly cares about this guy and we’re more inclined to laugh at you rather than cheer you on. Some people attempt to do it within the pig’s concentration camp by literally donating money to troll him (genius fucking move, truly). Some people try to play the long gay ops game by attempting some pseudo-autistic infiltration move to become mod in his community. Others dedicate entire channels to produce content to troll this guy to a completely unnecessary level (Sons of Kojima). The motives to troll the pig are real: you can get clout by making an appearance in a YT video of a prominent DSP detractor or inside his tiny Reddit subforum but it’s still super fucking gay. It makes you as retarded (if not more) than the paypigs who genuinely enjoy his content. It’s embarrassing and cringy as fuck as, you’re not impressing anyone. Phil has the unique ability to consistently self-sabotage himself. It’s slow but it’ll happen. Don’t be an immature shitstain and try to accelerate the process, just let it happen.
Peak Phil is the Phil that’s described in @Surly Muppet ‘s begging summaries. It’s the Phil that everyone here is waiting for: to witness a supposed self-declared mature adult debase himself in front of an audience of literal retards, losers, furries, and trolls in order to hit an arbitrary $100 Tips Goal so that he can fund a pathetic gacha game addiction, not even a real gambling addiction where he could at least make some fucking money. All these things require patience and attention to enjoy, traits obviously not espoused by the turboautists who come here in the hopes of becoming the most special faggot to take down The DarksydePhil.

Basically what I've gleaned from this lore snippet:
Linda took little Phil along to her church volunteer events. Mild powerlevel, my mom is also super involved with the church too, and I've been brought along to a fair amount of similar functions by her order when I was younger. Yeah, it sucked, and I was bored, and just wanted to go home and continue playing N64 and shit, but I behaved and pitched in a little bit whenever asked and just waited until we went home, not making a fuss.
I dropped this little powerlevel because, given my background, there is no fucking way in hell you can convince me that Phil didn't just bring his Game Boy along to these events, complained the whole time, and kept asking his mom when they were going home incessantly. He surely didn't lift a fucking finger to help out either. We already know Phil was a spoiled fucking brat, there's no way he'd behave or pitch in at these boring-ass churchy volunteer deals.
And then of course fast forward to today and here's Phil taking all the credit for whatever Linda did for her community back in the day. That's our pigroach!

Going off memory, I remember some guy gave Phil the money to buy that Goose puzzle game, but shortly after taking his money Phil said he wasn't going to play it (and just pocket the money).
He faced lots of backlash from his own paypigs, so that he ended up begrudgingly purchasing it, and then berated the guy who gave him money and said that all donations he recieves are his to do with as he pleases.

yeah i think this is around the time i started consuming dsp related content, he was having a pity party about how he was too broke to afford goose game ($20) repeatedly saying "sorry guys i just can't afford it i can't" and then a guy sends him $20 and says "here phil, now you can buy it and play it" and phil goes "well you can't tell me what to do with that money!!!"
