U.S. Riots of May 2020 over George Floyd and others - ITT: a bunch of faggots butthurt about worthless internet stickers

A lot of shit has to get worse before that level is reached. And I doubt anyone in America would get that bored. Or have that little regard for their own personal safety.
*snickers in redneck*
Some places have nothing to do. These are the places where you either hunt, fish or learn how to make fireworks to pass the time.

Probably never because they believe in the cause of BLM and they don't realize that the world isn't sunshine and rainbows, any attempt to make that world can be seen as weakness, and that they're approach towards MAGA of "if you hate someone and want them ruined and dead, they can't be reasoned with and they'll try EVERYTHING they can to achieve their objectives in that regard because they're THAT dedicated"....can apply to them to. That and true believers feel like what they do in the name of support isn't good enough, no matter what they do.
The moment they see the world isn’t sunshine and rainbows they still won’t do a thing they’ll go all Jonestown and drink the Flavor Aid

I'm pretty sure the rioting has died down at this point, but just for the record.

A year ago, a man Daniel Prude was found walking down the street naked during a snowstorm. He was restrained by cops, had a spit mask put on him, and later died in the hospital.

Today they ruled that there will be no charges for the cops involved.

I always loved the subtext to the space laser killing the two former presidents newscast. It's never outright stated, but it's heavily implied that it was a political killing.
I actually never thought of it being a political killing, but that makes sense.

The part that always struck me was that they announced that two former Presidents were dead, and then they just moved on to the next story like it wasn't important.

It's so close to real news that one almost couldn't tell it was a parody.

Going to what @Salubrious said, it seems more accurate today than it did then. Most of the time when even a literally who politician dies, it's wall to wall news coverage to the point at which you begin to hate the person even if you agreed with them politically. If it's just kind of brushed over, you know something is up.

I just thought it was a subtle jab at Nixon and Reagan, and that's probably all it was intended as honestly but that makes a lot more sense.

Is it really too cold to riot in Rochester, tonight?

Or are these riots a thing of the past?

City Council calls for prudence by police

Shortly before James spoke, City Council members released a statement and memo calling on RPD interim chief Cynthia Herriott-Sullivan to ban the use of chemical agents (such as tear gas) and flashbangs, and establish clear rules of engagement and “posturing protocol” for when officers should be present and whether they should be in riot gear.
Did you really need to make that pun?

Crowd amasses slowly in southwest Rochester

More than 100 people gathered at Jefferson Avenue and Samuel McCree Way, where Daniel Prude met police, by 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The crowd, hastily summoned and dressed against the cold, was not nearly as large as those over the summer.

Protest reaches Public Safety Building

After walking east on I-490 westbound, the protesters existed at Plymouth Avenue in downtown Rochester and made their way to the Public Safety Building, the site of many clashes in 2020.

The police presence there was less robust than has been the case in the past. Some barricades were stationed near the sidewalk but protesters soon cleared them. Police were stationed near the doors of the building.

Protest ends at 11:45 p.m.

Tuesday's protest ended 15 minutes before midnight, though organizers vowed to return.

The dwindling group first left the Public Safety Building and chanted for some time at the Civic Center Plaza, where they met deputies from the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.

There were no arrests reported and no apparent physical clashes with law enforcement.
Coverage.

Maybe you shouldn't get high on PCP, run down the street naked in a pandemic, and attempt to spit at officers when they are near you? Maybe this isn't the guy to be a martyr? How could people think to convict the cops in this case? How would you react if you were placed in their exact position? Should the officers have not put a spit hood on the man and allowed themselves to be infected with "the novel coronavirus?" What would have been the reasonable thing to do?

Some sick part of me misses the riots though. What a spectacle they were.

True, except it'll probably take a while before the rednecks find themselves in this hellscape of accelerationism you speak of.
No. I'm talking about a typical weekend in the sticks.

Ever considered dooming might be a means to escape responsibility for your life or for the conditions society laces upon you?

I mean this guy got pissed at traffic cams. He took action.

There are a lot of little things you can do if you disagree.

There's a speed camera about a mile from me that's always black with soot and non-functional. Someone set fire to it about a month after it went up. Then every time they'd replace it, it would mysteriously explode a few nights later. I'm fairly sure they've given up at this point, after realising it was costing them more to replace it every month than it was bringing in.

I remember he told the cops he had Covid-19 and kept spitting on them.
Since it's actually a hood, BLM wants us to believe that he suffocated from this 'barbaric' mask.
Cops don't pull this over your head by default, they do this for a reason and it was justified.

You think they would park a patrol car next to the camera to catch the perp

While it would be costly those cameras are not designed to withstand a .50 round.
Anything that would take a deer would take a camera. If the body is steel just catch them on the lens, easy. And if the body and lens are in a bulletproof box, paint or epoxy renders it useless. Or any number of acids will do the same, but require replacement - not just cleaning.

You think they would park a patrol car next to the camera to catch the perp

Forcing the county to park a deputy there is a win; if they could afford to have a patrol car there in the first place they wouldn't need the camera. They are now paying for the cop and the camera, blowing extra money for zero gain. Then when the patrol car is gone...well now they have to replace another camera.

This is basic guerrilla warfare math, the anti-camera people are forcing the government to bleed resources.
