I don't know what kind of ER they have there, but if you need a CT, IV of antibiotics and blood work done at every hospital I know of, they would definitely put on a wrist band.
Next "visit", she'll have bloodwork, CT, IV of antibiotics, stress test - oh hell, throw an angio in there!
In the US, we call them Frequent Fliers, and they are taken seriously. Most at the taxpayers expense. You can't turn away someone from the ER. That being said, most hospital staff recognizes the frequent fliers.
FFs are a pain in the ass, and why people wait ten goddamned hours in chairs. Also why people who really need pain meds have to go through eighty billion steps to get them. The pill fiends are the worst.
PL: I almost clocked a guy while waiting, in chairs, in a packed ER, because there was a pill fiend who would bitch to every single staffer who walked by - even housekeeping - about how he was in pain, and hurrrting, so bad, man! I finally told him to shut the fuck up because why the fuck did he think the rest of us were here, with his druggie ass whining and taking up a seat/doc attention, and that if he didn't shut the fuck up, he was going to need more than just his oxy fix. Security wound up hustling him out of there when other people joined in and he stood up like he was ready for us all to beat his ass into a real emergency.
Hmm. What's the healthy alternative to a cheap piece of meat, battered, deep fried, blasted with salt, and then smothered in seven layers of cheese?
Oh, right: not that.
Perhaps we should suggest a new diet for her: the gravitas, where you lose enough fat that your ass stops defying gravity.
I was thrown for a moment, because when I think of matron, I think of the older definition (stable, married, caring).
Are doctors not allowed to say- "holy shit, your fat as fuck and are going to lose a limb and then quickly rot away both internally and externally and continue to be a burden on the healthcare system and your family? How do you think they are going to cremate or bury you? You dont fit!"
Alas, no. It's a pity, really, because the world in general could use more straight talk and, yes, shaming, when necessary.
Does Canada not have urgent care she could go to?
They're probably not open at the middle of her "day", which is between midnight and 3 AM.
I think the saddest/most manipulative thing she wrote is: "Having people care is a nice feeling

".
Pretty sad when you confuse attention/comments from the internet as caring.
