I listened to the first few minutes of the latest pcp and digi talked about how he knew it would be hard for people to "stop associating the two "I" sounds when they went to call him by name" so he decided that Trixie was good because that also has two I sounds, just like digi. And because it's short for Beatrice. And because it's a pony, probably. He also talks about how he likes it when characters have a bunch of names so he wants to emulate that. Hilariously, he comments that it's cool because they don't give themselves these names, they're given to them because of what they do in the world. Obviously this is not the case for digi, who just randomly switches names whenever he feels like it.

Between that and your avatar it made me think of Gandalf from LOTR, and how in a weird way that is the guy that Digi wishes he was. Gandalf has a million friends and a million names, he's high all the time, everywhere he goes its a huge party, he's super well respected, and he's regarded as very wise. But it's like that because he put in a lot of work, is a guy you can count on to help you out in a pinch, and has solutions for problems. All Digi can do is ramble about Anime, and now he won't even do that. He just wants to ramble about him self.

I realize I'm late to the party, but as a casual anime fan and as a former occasional watcher of Digibro, I'll just say this: what a career he's ruined. (yes, I'm calling him Digi, that's how I've known him since I first discovered him and after reading all the crap that's gone on in the thread I don't have enough respect to indulge him in his demands)

I didn't agree with all of his views (or hell, even most of them), but I thought he made good content...most of the time. He managed to become friends with some pretty prominent folks in the Anitube sphere, including Gigguk of the Anime Zone. He was pretty much one of the people I'd think of when people talked about anime youtubers. And now to watch him just abandon a career that was still working pretty well for him, toss aside his fiancee like a used napkin, and forsake his whole life just to "find himself" and indulge in some stupid delusions just makes me...angry.

I used to be pretty moderate when it came to trans stuff (because I don't give a fuck what other people do with their bodies) but watching this grown man spiral headfirst into a black hole is making me reconsider my views. I'm sure not every trans person is nearly as narcissistic and self-obsessed as the average twitter trannie, but more and more it's beginning to seem like this trans shit is just a socially acceptable way to jerk yourself off and get people to pay attention to you.

Like, I get it, you have a penis and testicles and you're biologically programmed to produce testosterone and that makes you sad, but is that all you have going for you? Grow up. Being sad about your genitalia isn't an identity and it really shouldn't be an excuse for not doing anything of value with your life.

It's like that Canadian man in his 50s who out of the clear blue decided he wanted to be a 6-year-old girl and abandoned his wife and two children to indulge in his delusions. It was disgusting then and it still is now. I can't imagine the heartbreak his fiancee is going through. My heart goes out to her.

On top of all that, now he just expects everyone to just accept the fact that he's "done" with being an anituber and deludes himself into thinking he can actually make anime himself. Lol good luck with that, buddy. I expect it to be as well-crafted as Sonichu.

Apologies if I'm sperging/a-logging but honestly this whole thing just severely disappoints me. He tossed away a great career on Youtube on some petty narcissistic ego trip that, let's face it, he'll grow out of. It proves to me he never really cared about the following he cultivated or what his subscribers wanted. If he did, he would have at least kept the channel online before making this announcement. Now he's holding it hostage.

I agree with most of what you said but May is arguably the one who convinced Digi to transition and she already moved on to another lolcow a long time ago. She is too busy trying to have a threesome with a pregnant girl to remember that Digi exists.

He said in the DFE video that he'll still occasionally do anime videos since he "just likes to do it sometimes", so it's possible.

I mean for someone who claimed practically a spiritual connection with the author of Dragon Maid and gushed about it, I don't think he ever managed to finish his 3 part video series on it, so who knows. Season 2 is kind of a big deal since Dragon Maid was so beloved and one of the shows that got damaged by the KyoAni arson attack, so it'd be pretty shitty to be an anime talking head and not comment on it, but he might not just to prove the point that Digi is dead, long live Trixie.

I admit I didn't know much about his personal life and am only really hearing about this now. After looking at May's thread I take back everything I said. She can go to fucking hell.

I can't imagine what goes through a person's mind to convince your significant other to transition. I mean, they had sex before, didn't they? So the fact she encouraged him to go full troon makes me wonder if she was even interested in that. Then again, I had a weeb friend who was in a committed relationship and then convinced her boyfriend to transition. This whole thing just confuses the shit outta me and makes me head hurt.

So did Gigguk and look at him now. What mattered was Digi made content that people did genuinely enjoy, myself included (at least for a time). I was never subscribed to him and never followed him super closely, but he garnered quite a respectable viewer count for the time he was working on anime analyses. When he started doing his.....I don't even know what you call it (hippy-dippy trippy shit? Alternative content?) I just lost interest and moved on. Never thought I would see him spiral so far and so fast.
