This is a pretty good observation, and someone in one of the CWC threads postulated something similar, that if Chris had been born a generation ago, he likely would have just been the town oddball who liked watching the Twilight Zone and Star Trek obsessively and worked as a local janitor instead of whatever Sonichu Goddess he is this week. NEETs weren't a thing until very recently, and so shitheads like Kevin would have had to at least make an attempt at being a productive member of society, even if he had to be a terrible art teacher or something. In older times they lead inferior lives and died younger on average, it's harsh but true. In antiquity and pre-modern times someone like Kevin would have been beaten in line by his father or his elder brother, or forced to leave the family or village if he didn't work. These men also would have 'disappeared' if they continuously showed deviant sexual behaviour publicly. Nowadays, these men leech off the system and internet gives them pretty much everything they want. This is the price we pay for creating societies in which the state supports the weak - that's still a good and kind thing imo but it comes with many downsides.
Edit: Of course you could get away with it all of you were rich or ruling class. What was Nero if not an imperator Kevin?
@Meiwaku made that excellent post about the links between autism and trooning out, but as someone who has also been an observer of internet weirdos for a long time (though with a more general instead of specialized focus), I think the rise and ease of use of social media has a lot to do with it. Pointing out how a lesbian subreddit is getting invaded by troons is pretty eye-opening. Obviously Twitter and Reddit are cesspits, but the way they can not only reinforce the sense of community and cultishness among their users, the us versus them, the troons versus TERFs, can't be understated, which is magnified by the way those platforms actively police any and all "wrongspeak." Look at how you can't say tranny or retard on Facebook anymore without getting Zucc'd, or all of Reddit's mass purgings, and, you know, fucking Twitter being Twitter.
My layman's theory is that memes are also a major source of the rise of wokeness, troons and their seeming acceptance. Not only does it give them a common language to use, bond over, and rally around (the goddamn UwU speak, 'heckin gosh,' am hole), the ability to both create and share memes with ease grows constantly. They become a sort of self-perpetuating language to the point that someone in the know can immediately spot a "is this loss?" meme and feel like one of the cool kids. It's one of the many reasons why Kevin and troons like him are always on Twitter, posting and retweeting even the dumbest, most unfunny shit that might as well be "10 REASONS WHY BEER IS BETTER THAN A WOMAN L O L!!" They need to keep reinforcing and spreading that language at the risk of it dying out. It's grooming on another level, because a Wokeist getting an asspat on Twitter by someone in the alphabet diversity brigade is just as big a dopamine hit as ~gender euphoria~ is for a troon.
