Sometimes I suspect that Bob just wants, to use a cwcism, hanky panky from some of these people. The Omega Thinker, an unintentional hilarious parody of Zoey Quinn, is meant to be the representation of the 'new' face of gaming. His constant white knighting for Anita is borderline fanboyism.

Too bad for him that he's a failure with no opportunities for these women to exploit him.

So the guy's a huge fan of the Mario games, where the central storyline is that Bowser kidnaps Peach and Mario goes to save the day and presumably the two are an item at some point because of all of it.

In Bob's thick, demented skull, he might actually view himself as the Mario to Anita's "Peach," saving her from the evil twolls of GamerGate and shit that keep harassing her, and that little miss Princess Anita might recognize Bob's efforts and dub him as savior of the kingdom (and possibly fuck him after).

Again, it seems like a stretch, but I remind you that this guy:

1) Proudly wore a Mario cosplay past the ripe age of 30 (and I'm pretty sure it wasn't for a convention).

2) Wrote an entire book based on one fucking video game that probably has more words in all of the walkthroughs freely available online put together than War & Peace.

3) Based about a good portion of that fucking book that's supposed to be based on a fucking video game on his nonsensical life story where he talks about how the console wars are his Vietnam, Mario not being from Brooklyn was one of the most traumatic experiences of his lifetime, and he would willingly stay at his workplace playing Mario to avoid seeing his family at night.

Actually the more I think about it the more I realize that people like Bob are the actual sexists.

Think about it. The people who criticize people like Anita, Randi, Brianna and Zoey are only doing their job because they want to see the media improve whilst people like Quinn etc want people to just kick their asses and give them money for minimal work. When someone like Pinsof raises the alarm about a developer lying about their fund campaign, people like Blod, Totilla and Kuchera quickly jump up in the way to accuse these people for being misogynistic.

Critism is one of the best means of self improvement. Those who actually care lift themselves from the dirt on the ground and try and try until they succeed. Quinn, Wu etc are the kind who just stay in the dirt and cry, refusing to improve their image and their art. By denying them that people like Bob are denying them the opportunity to realize that by just crying wolf at every critisim will not make them better, thus they are treated as damsels in distress.

Sure there will always be that asshole who simply keeps spewing bile at them, but if there is one law on the internet it is this:

Don't feed trolls.

That basically goes with a book I'm recently reading, 'Esquerda Caviar'/gauche caviar. This whole thing's been going on for ages, really, and an important point I've taken from it is that, quite so often, the people who do this kind of stuff are so focused on being right and good that they think their own arguments are right and good because they themselves are, while being blind and deaf to criticism.

[Basically the 'gauche caviar' or 'limousine liberals' are the SJWs who talk a lot but don't do anything to help others because that'd make them unimportant. It's kind of a right-wing book, but I'm not going to discount the guy purely on that, I'm looking for the reasonable sides as well.]

This effort almost seems concerted, like it was some idea planted by a deep-cover troll making sure SJWs never smarten up and start ignoring the trolls, but really these are people who thrive off of being victimized, so of course they can't ignore trolls. And so, there is an endless loop of trolling, reactions to trolling, and further trolling, and so on.

Sjws are sort of like Chris. They are toldnot to engage trolls, but do it anyway cos they think that they can achieve victory. Bob and the rest fail to realize that trolls are just there to get a reaction, they don't care about debate/discussion.

I feel like describing him as an Ur-Fascist is giving him to much credit.

He's a selfish manchild who yearns for the halcyon days of his youth and has a contempt for the younger generation for not appreciating the things that defined his childhood. He hates the new vidya because it's new and different. He hates the new gamers because he doesn't see them as pure like he was as a kid. Anything that lines up with Ur-Fascism is symptomatic of being a bitter adult who is realizing that he is losing relevancy.

He is both an old man and a child in the body of a 30-something year old.
