Depending on how long it's been, I feel a genuinely interesting idea would be a short series about him trying to shake off the rust. But I suppose that might force introspection and we can't have that.

Are you telling me there are really still people who genuinely after all these years of shady business tactics, lazy formulas and eye rolling behaviour that still sit and watch gamegrumps? Over other channels like oneyplays or whatever?

I’m sure there are both people who willingly ignore the obvious fake social justice act for the humour, but at what point do you move on to something more exciting? This sounds extremely childish. I knew one guy that constantly, constantly paraded the whole “toxic masculinity, #believeallwomen, everyone’s a nazi” rhetoric all over social media. He was talking about game grumps openly one day and I chimed in “I’m not a fan, I’m pretty sure that Dan guy is some kind of a rapist or pervert something of the sort, he gives me the creeps” and the dude immediately started saying the women were probably liars and that he’s just a stud that likes sex or whatever.

My guess is that these people were lonely kids that grew up with GG. I think we've all seen the meme of "What it's like listening to Game Grumps" and it's the picture of the kid laughing while sitting near a poster of some girls laughing. You don't want to think your "heroes" or the people you imagined would totally be your friends in your wildest fantasies could be bad. It's why they defend everything they do. You see it all the time with celebrities in general, but with Game Grumps it's especially sad.

Time was when there was a lot of discourse on Newgrounds about Egoraptor and his Awesome-brand vidya parodies and whether or not he was wasting his potential or betraying true art or whatever. He knew it, too. He would publicly vow to give up the Vidya Awesomes and focus on his original creative work and then predictably fold. The rabid defenders were out then, too, and this was all before GG took off and Arin's "real" self became his new brand.

The kids move on, but there's a new kid every day that finds the channel, so it makes more sense to pander to them for views than please their regular captive audience.

It would sure be embarrassing if his entire argument was destroyed by a quick Google search.

Arin did this before with a character from Danganronpa, but he's turned into one of those Twitter profiles I see in cringe posts that claim characters are female or trans when they're not. It's genuinely sad to see someone you respected turn into this.
