I'm enjoying the dilemma that community is caught it.
If they admit one of their own can be a disgusting deviant, that opens the door for any of them to be one and they've hard-lined that they're ALL LIKE EVERYONE ELSE.
If they don't, people may start thinking they are all disgusting deviants.
Either decision means admitting that they're not infallible and they do house deviants, and the internal argument some must be having is kind of hilarious to me.

I'm probably too late on this, but there is definitely cross-pollination in everything, it's like video games and anime. In the case of troons, it's probably a bit darker, we've speculated that some of the troon-outs are to cover for sexual inequities in the past.

There's a lot of Autism in that link, so I'll unpack it for ya in an easier-to-digest format.
The writer establishes that there is a culture amongst the transgendered activist community that at best sees them as expendable assets and at worst something they can dominate and manipulate. The most powerful and controlling people in these communities are, by happenstance, also the most terrifyingly fucked-up and, despite all claims to the contrary, they do not give a single solitary fuck about abuse because they freely do so to get control of their own. They use cult tactics to disempower people in their grasp, and when their puppets inevitably outlive their usefulness, they get rid of them and claim they're abusers, since their community doesn't need pesky things like evidence or logic to come to conclusions.
It's shit that we've all known about for a while, and witnessed covering cows and their herds here on the Farms. For example, Zoe Quinn and her associates kicking the troons out of the cool kids' house when they outlived their usefulness, or dozens of the usual suspects going out of their way to pretend they had absolutely nothing to do with Chloe Sagal's literal self-immolation. It establishes that despite some severe fucking 'tism, there are people acutely aware that these communities exist for no other purpose than as internet meat grinders, feeding an apparatus that exists solely to enrich its own miniature establishment class at the cost of everyone else. It hates accomplishment and it seeks to penalize initiative, resulting in a group of easily-controlled people who can't do anything for themselves and who are utterly beholden to the cult of personality.
It's a culture of never-ending distrust, alienation, and fear, and it establishes that on some small level, some of the troons are as much victims of this system as they are its perpetrators.
