Either someone's pulling the strings or Chris saw a post criticizing something he didn't like (G5), saw that it only did that and ignored the rest of the context and posted it anyway. Chris protested the shit out of Equestria Girls...until he saw it. Then he absolutely loved it to the point he cosplayed as the DJ character a few times.

I garuntee he'll flip on G5 really fast in September (that's when the movie will hit Netflix) and he'll start supporting it. From what I know, the main character this time around is the orange horse who is treated as the 'weirdo' in her community because they aren't on the same level as her with the whole 'friendship' thing (or so the Enertainment Today article blurb I found on google says), so he might even relate to her as Night Star 2.0.

Either way, it's stupid shit only Chris would consider severe enough that he had to drop character finally.
