She is just flailing for anything to extend her last hurrah period, and knows if she can fool people into thinking she is looking into WLS then that buys her weeks, maybe even months before she would have to ’truly get serious this time’. She has no real intention of doing it.
This is Chantal’s problem in a nutshell. She thinks as long as she has excuse to eat in front of fans, it doesn’t affect her health.
“If I tell my viewers I’m getting WLS/getting diabetes help/getting a new doctor etc, then I can eat guilt-free on camera until then and have a last hurrah!”
But it
doesn’t matter what her viewers think. She’s not fooling her BODY with that excuse. Her liver doesn’t say, “Oh, Chantal is getting a diabetes consultation next week? Well then, I guess I’ll cut her some slack and stop dying until then, since she obviously doesn’t know what
proper foods to eat until that meeting.”
Buying herself weeks of eating junk until some consultation or procedure
only buys her time away from being criticized by fans. It doesn’t buy her one more day of living for her body...in fact, it kills it even faster.
Chantal tells herself, “well I can’t start on a new lifestyle of eating UNTIL I have that consultation and learn what foods to eat, so I can eat as much as I want until then.”
Bitch, your body doesn’t care. It doesn’t care what meetings you have planned. It’s slowly dying and every day that you forcefeed it sugar and fat is one step closer to the grave.
Chantal’s big issue is with authority. Doctors to her are like teachers or parents...if you look sorry and have a good enough excuse or lie, you won’t get in trouble. She doesn’t want to “get in trouble” with doctors by telling them the truth of what she eats, and then being “punished” by having a restrictive (and lifesaving) diet drawn up for her.
As we grow into adults, people learn to internalize the lessons being taught to us by teachers and parents, because they’re important and necessary. Little kids don’t want to brush their teeth because it’s boring, but they’ll get in trouble if they don’t. Sometimes they lie and SAY they did it already, or find excuses to keep putting it off, because they don’t understand yet how important dental hygiene is, and you have to wrangle them and force them to do it, with only the threat of “getting in trouble” motivating them. Later on in life, they learn to police themselves and brush their teeth because they know it’s good for them and pain, cavities, root canals etc will follow if they don’t.
Chantal never learned to internalize lessons from authority figures. She’s still five years old, everyone who makes her brush her teeth and eat her veg and stop pigging on junk is a big meanie who isn’t her friend, and she only does the right thing for herself if she’s utterly forced to, because otherwise she’ll “get in trouble.” But if she can lie or delay or weasel her way out of doing it, that’s just as good to her because she “avoided getting in trouble.”
She thinks if she can lie to the doctors enough, lie to her fans enough, come up with enough excuses or empty promises, she won’t “be in trouble” with them anymore and won’t have to hear things she doesn’t want to hear.
But her body is the one she has to answer to for all this and you
can’t lie to it. You can’t look your gigantic, bloated, greasy liver in the face and say, “I don’t actually eat that much fat. I needed a cheat day. I’m under a lot of stress and fast food helps. I’m seeing the doctor next week.” You can’t look your suffering lungs in the face and say, “I have a mental illness so it’s not my fault.” You can’t look your raging blood sugar in the face and say, “I don’t even like sweets. Fruit sugar isn’t real sugar. It doesn’t count.” Try it. Put a human organ on a table, or a bullhorn up to your abdomen, and try to convince it, with words, to stop dying. It won’t. Your body doesn’t give a fuck and it doesn’t listen to lies, delayed future promises or excuses.
Chantal is so preoccupied with fooling viewers and doctors or coming up with plausible excuses to them. But her
body is the one she ultimately answers to on this and she can’t lie to it. You can tell your fans “the rest is for Bibi,” “I didn’t eat the leftovers,” “this is HOMEMADE battered fish and chips so it doesn’t count,” and so on. You can tell everyone you had one slice of pizza and they’ll praise you and you won’t get in trouble.
With them.
Your body knows you ate the whole thing.
