Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

For all the talk about how volatile and "aggressive" Republicans supposedly are, these people have never actually seen legit fights break out in these instances.

There have been parliament brawls that look like actual soccer riots. But oh no, a shirtless man in a Viking helmet and Baked fucking Alaska's dumb asses walking into the building is a historical act of evil.

No impeachment. If you believe the conspiracies, the plan is to tinker with things so Biden steps down, Kamala comes in, and she's able to be POTUS for a decade. And with 2020, HR1, and refining and solidifying the methods of the 2020 election, and trust in the process going lower that causes GOP turnout to plummet, she'll get her decade.

You can't, at least in theory from a PR standpoint, decry the things Biden did and then literally do the exact same things. You can't even say that the media PR machine will be behind her because they are already behind Biden.

I suppose that depends on how bad you think Biden's fuck ups are. So far most of his fuck ups are by executive order. Kamala can undo those with a stroke of a pen. Joe probably won't even be out the front door before everything he had done is erased.

Also I suppose on whether you believe that Joe and Kamala are just puppets or actual players in the game. If they are just puppets, then they will do what they are told and the media will memory hole anything else.

A disturbing thought is that this is just "A/B Testing" to feel out the populist sentiment in the country. Have Joe do things, see if his popularity tanks, chuck him when they have data on what was popular and what wasn't. Kamala Harris isn't going to win an election on her own, (that much is obvious) so use her as a lab rat to see what policies worked. By the time her four years are up (I am aware of the conspiracy theories of 10 years) Democrat leadership will have a firm grip on what people want to hear.

A Democratic Congress will neither impeach a Democratic president or convict a Democratic president. It's the Republicans who have been willing to cross party lines to participate in an impeachment. They've done so twice, with Andrew Johnson, and with Nixon. It never got to the point of an actual impeachment and trial with Nixon because he resigned. It's important to note that Nixon resigned because Republican members of both the House and Senate secretly told Nixon that an impeachment and conviction was inevitable and would have significant Republican support.

Why would they erase everything they wanted to do in the first place? They'll just leave everything there and hope that memory of it fades into the background.

As I theorized, the establishment is trying to feel out this wave of populism. "Erasing everything" may have been too much for what they will do, but they will undo the stuff that was the least popular.

The last time that happened in the US it started with a caning that led to opposing parties carrying pistols and shotguns on the house floor and then a civil war. it took the fight out of the congress largely. the "you lie!" outburst is the only thing exciting that has happened on the house floor in 80 years.
You still get fights in the state houses but they are generally over personal assaults and insults not policy.

There is no way that Joe lasts 2 years. The stress of the job would wreck him in that time if everything was normal. Right now every month feels like a year.

I don't know. This smells of a party that is confident they are in control for the long haul. The House passing Covid relief against the senate parliamentarian's ruling, the endless executive orders, the media being charged to enter the WH, the doing whatever they want despite the will of the people that voted them in--I think they believe they have the lock on voting fraud. If you don't have to worry about pesky constituents, you can do whatever you want.
