Something something iq. I went to a school with a majority white students and most ap students were Asian, buts its not a problem unless it effects the right minority. Anyways these programs are necessary imo. I'm sure most people sometime in their life have known a very bright kid who amounted to nothing because they were never challenged, and I guarantee teachers have seen this happen. Ironically this decision can only hurt unprivileged but gifted minority students, the people their insane virtue signaling is supposed to protect.

Why must things have to match the demographics of an area, that's not inequality. Inequality would be being shoved into shitty schools, not whether or not some kid is being put into an advanced learning program. One can be influenced by the government, the other by the kids themselves and their learning aptitude. The way these kids get into the program itself is fair according to the article, it's already as level a playing field as you can get:

The program was open to all students in the Boston Public Schools who took a test known as Terra Nova in the third grade and received a high score. Those students were placed in a lottery conducted by the central administration office, and lottery winners received letters inviting them to apply to the program. Last fall, 453 students received invitations, 143 students applied and 116 enrolled this year, officials said.

There's also a good 300 students who didn't bother to apply which might skew things one way or another. How many didn't bother because they didn't want more work, leave their friends, or had the good old ghetto mentality, "learning makes you white", instilled in them at this point?

Mr. Potato Head to lose "Mr." title in gender-neutral rebrand
A gender-neutral makeover will see Mr. Potato Head become the toy formerly known as Mr. Potato Head.

The classic toy's branding is being "reimagined for the modern consumer", its US maker Hasbro announced on Thursday.

From later this year, the toy - launched almost 70 years ago - will be named Potato Head on packaging.

Other toy companies have taken similar decisions in recent years, breaking with traditional gender norms.

"Hasbro is making sure all feel welcome in the Potato Head world by officially dropping the Mr. from the Mr. Potato Head brand name and logo to promote gender equality and inclusion," Hasbro said of the name change.

The rebranded toy, which can be assembled with a selection of different body parts and clothes, will be released in autumn this year, Hasbro said.

The company said the toy will allow children "to imagine and create their own Potato Head family".

However, in a later tweet on Thursday, the company said the Mr and Mrs Potato Head characters would still be available to buy, but didn't provide more details.

Mr. Potato Head was one of the main characters in Toy Story, an animated film series produced by Pixar and released by Walt Disney Pictures.

In those films, Mr. Potato Head angrily reminds other toys to use his honorific in some scenes.

"That's 'Mr. Potato Head' to you, you back-stabbing murderer," the plastic spud said to Woody, the toy cowboy played by American actor Tom Hanks.

What reaction has there been?
The rebrand has been seen as a progressive move by some and criticized as a PR stunt by others.

"There is movement around gender neutrality at the moment," Frederique Tutt, a toy industry analyst for the NPD Group told the BBC. "It's something that Hasbro has been addressing, along with inclusivity."

She said the rebrand shows Hasbro is mindful of people who "want to be gender-neutral, who want to choose".

"So I guess that's where Mr. Potato Head is going as well," Ms. Tutt said.

In an interview with business magazine Fast Company, Hasbro general manager Kimberly Boyd said the Mr. and Mrs. brand was "limiting when it comes to both gender identity and family structure".

"Culture has evolved," she added.

Others were less enthused with the rebrand.

"Barbie must be renamed something more gender-neutral. This is imperative," conservative American commentator Ben Shapiro wrote in an apparently sarcastic tweet.

Mr. Potato Head first went on sale in 1952. On the back of its success, Mrs. Potato Head, along with traditional feminized accessories, was launched the following year.

The move follows other updates to classic brands, including Barbie, who was initially known for being tall, white and blonde but now comes in a range of ethnicities and body shapes.

In 2019, global toy giant Mattel released a line of gender-neutral dolls.

And more female characters have been added to the Thomas the Tank Engine series.

It was only a few years ago that they were trying to explain, with a straight face, that reading to your children was racist, because it gave them an advantage that blacks didn't have because blacks effectively have no parents -- having driven the males away with Democratic gibs policies, and having the females be brain dead whores at best.

They have come to the conclusion in the back of their minds that Blacks will NEVER progress further than their urban hellscapes, and the only way for equity to be achieved is to social engineer whites into being brain dead cultureless consooming white niggers to match.

I think the change from the all encompassing POC label to the new BIPOC to center black and indigeous folk highlights this trend. Can't have those other POC think they are as important as black people.

Apparently the actual make up of the city, not the school, is... 60% white/asian. So.
  1. They had to cherry pick metrics to make it look like there's a racial disparity in the demographics, when in reality it's almost an exact mirror of the city of Boston.
  2. There's a HUGE disparity in the racial makeup of the schools vs the population at large -- either whites are being outbred at massive scales in Boston, or there's a shitload of Illegals' kids in there to skew the numbers, or the Whites are putting their kids in better, non public, schools.
Maybe a little from column A, a little from column B?
