Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

SA strain is fundamentally different from most other strains in the world atm. It's a resistant mutation, in essence; the core fundamentals of the vaccine function, which is why they expect to be able to push an update by around August. The timetable would speed up if this strain started to affect a country with the cash to actually afford better research, mind.

The main advantage of the J&J variant is that it doesn't require cold storage and is thus easier to transport and distribute, especially to places with poor infrastructure. There's significantly less chance of New-York style "just throw it out" as well, since the stuff doesn't really spoil quite as easily. It also doesn't require a booster, iirc.
Just to correct myself, the AstraZeneca vaccine is the one that South Africa stopped, not J&J. They actually swapped the rest of their AZ doses for J&J apparently, lol.

so, whats the difference between this vaccine and the other vaccines?
Uses attenuated (weakened) live virus.
Requires only one injection.
Doesn't need to be refrigerated.
Both J&J and AZ are adenovirus-based vector vaccines, not live attenuated. They took the spike protein RNA from SARS-CoV-2 and put it inside a modified adenovirus that can't replicate.

Imagine the lawsuits against hospitals when this is over. I can imagine them getting sued for letting cancer patients die for focusing exclusively on corona and neglecting patients with their tik tok skits.

The hospitals did exactly what the elites wanted so you bet they will be given full legal immunity.

California would never be stupid enough to vote in someone worse than Newsom.

Right? Nobody can be that fucking autistic can they?
*sigh*

Sorry, little one

I just realized "one of" the reasons why this $1.9 TRILLION COVID relief package pisses me off.

$1.9 TRILLION is a lot of money (no shit?). The damages that BLM caused to properties and small businesses was $2 billion. The COVID relief package is 950 times that, but no money will never be spent to get those small businesses recovered. Even though $25 billion will go to "small businesses", come on now.

How much money would it fix to get Flint residents clean drinking water that as far as I know they still don't have?

How much money would it cost to actually get some of these destroyed cities back to even just basic poverty levels?

It's like, the government is willing to spend all this money for show, but the actual people that need it get a handwaved $1400 like that's supposed to solve all their problems. Even if 100 million Americans each get $1400, that's still only $140 Billion. That's less than 10% of this total package.

I know this is nothing new, but this one in particular just bothers me for some reason.

Congratulations, you have figured out how governments work! Or rather, how they dont.

so, whats the difference between this vaccine and the other vaccines?
If you believe what they're saying: it's piss easy for them to manufacture on a large scale, it only requires 1 shot instead of two, and it doesn't require all the specialized storage that the other ones require, making logistics a lot simpler.

If you don't believe the bullshit: J&J is the largest and richest pharmaceutical company in the world. Now that they can start getting their slice of all the COVID money, there's a chance that back-channel funding of pro-lockdown "experts" and fear mongering media starts drying up, as J&J won't have as much skin in the game of dragging out the bullshit, and they probably want to fuck over the other big pharma companies that were late to the game.

Now, Vaccination passports and linking getting the vaccine to your ability to have any rights or freedoms is Big Pharma's wet dream, so it's 100% going to happen worldwide, so we're fucked every which way, but if the choice is between more lockdown torture and rolling the dice on this experimental bullshit, I guess I'll have to roll the dice because I can't endure any more of this lockdown bullshit.

Spending other people’s money is the best thing in the world.

edit: source - I do it in the corporate world but I’m expected (and measured) on providing value for it. If that constraint went away, holy shit. The numbers would get big.

I wouldn't be too quick to make this prediction because I've already seen governments fall upon the Sword of Equity trying to talk this shit up. If black people don't want to get vaxed and getting vaxed is pushed as a requirement to do stuff, then black people are going to be barred from doing stuff and that is not a good look as they say on the Twatter. (Does that mean that getting vaxed is actually based and redpilled if it keeps the blacks out? Only time will tell, friends.)

The latest bullshit from the county I live in:

BREAKING NEWS FROM THE CARMEL PINE CONE

February 27, 2021, 4:05 p.m.

MONTEREY COUNTY CORONAVIRUS CASES FALL TO LOWEST LEVEL SINCE OCTOBER

• 7-day average down to 11.8

After suffering through two months of case loads as high as 4,000 per week, Monterey County had just 377 new cases of coronavirus this week, according to testing results tracked by the county health department. The 377 cases mark the lowest total for the county since the end of October and shrink Monterey County's 7-day average of new cases per 100,000 residents to 11.8. When the 7-day case rate reaches 7.0, indoor dining, museums, gyms and other types of businesses in the county will be eligible to reopen under the governor's economic shutdown rules. One month ago, the county's 7-day average was 70.3. (Yeah, yeah, yeah...right. Still believe it will be a long time before I eat at a restaurant again.- JS)

This week's 377 new cases include 241 in Salinas and the Salinas Valley, with 75 in the Monterey Peninsula: 32 in Seaside, 14 in Monterey, 12 in Marina, 7 in Pacific Grove, 4 in Carmel Valley, two in Carmel area (93923), one in Pebble Beach, and none in Big Sur or Carmel-by-the-Sea.

Since the epidemic began one year ago, the five Monterey County zip codes with the lowest case rates per 100,000 population are all in the Monterey Peninsula. Carmel-by-the-Sea has experienced 917 cases per 100,000 residents, Pebble Beach, 1,287, Carmel area, 1,527, Carmel Valley, 1,751, and Pacific Grove, 1,975. In comparison, Soledad has had more than 20,000 coronavirus cases per 100,000 residents, while Gonzales, Greenfield and East Salinas have each had more than 14,000. See our "Cases by Zip Code" table below for more details.

VACCINATIONS RAMP UP BUT COUNTY STILL FAR BEHIND

More than 13,000 Monterey County residents received an injection of one of the coronavirus vaccines this week, according to the latest data from the California Department of Public Health. That represents a small but significant increase over the 12,000 shots the week before. Monterey County residents have now received 15,922 injections per 100,000 residents. Unfortunately, that total is still far behind what the CDC says is California's rate of 21,681 per 100,000 population, and the national rate of 21,930 per 100,000.(Typical - county government's pretty fucking useless except to take people's tax money and fuck with them. - JS)

OVER 65s QUALIFY BEGINNING MARCH 3

Please remember that eligibility for coronavirus vaccinations expands in Monterey County this week, including to anyone 65 and older. If you're eligible, you can schedule an appointment for a vaccination in the county at mcvaccinate.com, offered by the county health department, or at www.chomp.org/vaccine, which is the site for clinics operated by Community Hospital. You may also be able to schedule a vaccination at cvs.com or at riteaid.com.
(I'll pass. - JS)

CHOMP WELCOMES VISITORS AGAIN

With coronavirus cases decreasing in the county and more people getting vaccinated, Community Hospital announced yesterday that patients will be able to have more visitors. Since the epidemic began, visitors were allowed at the hospital only in very limited circumstances.

"Our revised policy enables most patients to have visitors/support people at specific times and in limited numbers," the hospital said. "We know this kind of support can help with healing, so we are happy to be able to loosen things up a bit, while still focusing on the safety of patients, staff, medical staff, and visitors."

Keep in mind, the Democrats big argument against voter ID is that black people don't have IDs. Which they do. But requiring black people to have vax cards will be fun.

By the way, you ever notice how Dems keep saying black people don't have IDs, but never actually make an attempt to get us IDs? I wonder why that is? It's like black people not having IDs (even though we do) is a major talking point for them.

God, when will the day of the rake finally cleanse us leafs? This is complete horseshit; every citizen should have the right to peaceful assembly, regardless of a pandemic, regardless of whether or not you agree with them. Peaceful assembly is a fundamental right, and fuck anyone who tries to take that away. I hope every ticket issued gets thrown out in court. This ends when we stop letting them walk all over us

Why was this celebrated virologist toiling away as a wage slave at a Trader Joe's? It sounds like Ben and his big brain should be in the lab solving all the world's problems. I would say Trader Joe's did Ben a favor by firing him.

Who knew it, Drain Todger's cousin worked at Trader Joe's.

Look dude, nobody gives a shit about your constant copy / paste from the home of Pebble Beach. Please stop with the daily word salad.

Lots of us probably agree that lockdowns are idiotic but calm down with posting your local news.

I dunno, getting a slice of life from the middle of a blue state is an interesting microcosm of this, and he's da OP and he's been doing it all year. You could, like, scroll past or something.

Huh yeah, didn't Biden imply that blacks are too dumb and poor to access the internet? Lacking voter ID in itself is pretty stupid, but failing to come up with an argument against it and resorting to pulling out "it's... uh... racist!" is seriously weapons grade retarded. Unless liberals sincerely believe black people are all low-IQ ghetto dwelling idiots who fried their brains with crack. Freud was full of shit about a lot of things, but I think he was absolutely correct about projection, and liberals do love accusing people of racism...

Anyway, here's an overly long article about a greasy scumbag defrauding the Ontario government for over twelve million dollars in Covid relief money. That isn't the funny part though. That is the counter suit the greedy motherfuckers are filing against the gov't for monetary compensation because being "falsely" accused hurt their feelings. Even funnier is that in their defense, they fucking said the government is completely 100% at fault because they make it way too easy to steal from them. It's kind of tangential to Wu Flu but this is the only place where someone might find this as entertaining as I did.

Sons of bureaucrat fired after COVID-19 fraud are suing the Ford government for $1M, alleging ‘indifference’ to theft

By Robert Benzie Queen's Park Bureau Chief

Two sons of the Ontario bureaucrat fired after the alleged theft of $11 million in COVID-19 relief funds are each suing Premier Doug Ford’s government for $1 million for “psychological” damages, the Star has learned.

Chinmaya Madan, 27, and Ujjawal Madan, 24, served the province with counter claims Friday charging the government’s “allegation of conspiracy” against them is “preposterous” and “has been advanced recklessly and maliciously.”

The brothers allege they are “victim(s) of identity theft committed by (their) own father,” because hundreds of bank accounts were opened in their names without their knowledge.

They say they are suffering from “anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder” due to the province’s “reckless and baseless” claims against them.

In that Ontario Superior Court filing, the province alleges last spring, “some or all of” Sanjay Madan, his spouse, Shalini Madan, their two sons, and associate Vidhan Singh embezzled millions in Support for Families payments to thousands of BMO, TD, RBC, Tangerine, and ICICI bank accounts.

Sanjay Madan was the information technology leader on the computer application for the pandemic fund that gave Ontario parents $200 per child under age 12, and $250 per child and youth under 21 with special needs for educational expenses.

He was terminated with cause in November from his $176,608-a-year job at the Ministry of Education.

Shalini Madan, who did not work on the Support for Families program and, like her sons, has denied any wrongdoing, was let go from her $132,513-a-year position as a Ministry of Government and Consumer Services computer manager.

The province’s claims have not been proven in civil court. The government did not have any immediate comment Friday about the counter suit.

An injunction has frozen some $28 million in Madan family assets, including $12.4 million in Indian bank accounts, an $8 million, 30-unit Waterloo student housing complex, a seven-bedroom house in North York valued at $2.57 million, six Toronto condominiums worth about $3 million, and $1 million in profit from selling a four-bedroom house.

The government also alleges Sanjay Madan was the kingpin in an elaborate $30 million “kickback scheme” before the pandemic through Ministry of Education computer consulting contracts.

No criminal charges have been laid, but seven Ontario Provincial Police detectives are investigating.

In their suit against the province — filed by lawyer Christopher Du Vernet, who is representing all four Madan family members — the sons say they are victims of the government’s “incompetence and indifference to waste and theft.”

“The (province’s) reckless and baseless allegations against him have led members of the public to believe that Chinmaya Madan is a member of a crime family whose members have devoted their entire adult lives to stealing from the public purse,” states the counter claim, which insists they have never met Vidhan Singh, an associate of their father.

Their suit says the government “knew, or ought to have known, that unscrupulous individuals, including potentially its own employees, might try to exploit weaknesses in its security measures to take money.”

They also allege “negligence” on the part of senior Ministry of Education bureaucrats who “failed to provide proper instructions to applicants who received payments in their bank accounts erroneously.”

As well, top civil servants were “negligent in failing to properly supervise Sanjay Madan to ensure that he did not use the (government’s) computer systems to commit identity theft and fraud, thereby causing damage to” his sons.

Chinmaya and Ujjawal, who worked at low-level IT jobs at Queen’s Park until leaving voluntarily last summer, are each seeking $1 million in damages from the government for “psychological injury.”

In their claims they say their symptoms include: “weight fluctuations; frequent illness; lethargy; nightmares; difficulty sleeping; inability to leave the house; feelings of crushing sadness; anxiety and fear; difficulty concentrating; feeling numb and disconnected from the world; (and) extreme mood swings.”

In addition, Chinmaya is seeking $108,713 “for amounts wrongly seized or frozen by” the government while Ujjawal seeks $25,870.69 for seized assets.

Du Vernet said Friday the brothers “are victims not only of Sanjay Madan, but of the provincial government’s woefully inadequate systems.”

“The three Madans — like all Ontarians — had a right to expect the provincial government would have better safeguards,” the lawyer said, referring also to Shalini, who has not launched any legal action against the province.

To that end, “the three Madans believe that the provincial government is the author of its own misfortune; it let literally thousands of people rob it blind,” he said.

“It did nothing to stop wholesale fraud and it told no one when fraud began; it simply watched it happen,” said Du Vernet, adding Shalini, Chinmaya, and Ujjawal “have been made scapegoats for the government’s own misconduct and neglect.”

“We look forward to finding out who at the provincial government knew about program fraud, when they knew it, and what, if anything, they did about it,” he said.

“The Ford government needs to come clean about what it did, and didn’t do to protect taxpayers’ money. A pandemic is no excuse for incompetence and wilful blindness; if anything it makes vigilance even more important.”

Sanjay Madan, who owns two villas in Hyderabad, India, holds Canadian and Indian passports, even though India does not permit dual citizenship. He also has permanent residency status in Panama, a tax haven that has no extradition treaty with Canada.

And I don't even like to post this but this is another piece of fuck who became a bylaw officer (they're hiring any dipshits to enforce quarantine) to sexually assault women who he knew would be alone. It's worth documenting. To be honest I have long believed that anyone hired last year for Covid police/"contact tracing" should be launched into the sun. Told you.

Quarantine officer charged with extortion, sexual assault after demanding cash fine from Ont. resident

Halton Regional Police will not identify the federally trained private-security company where man worked.

A quarantine screening officer employed by a private security company hired and trained by Canada's federal health agency has been charged after allegedly demanding a cash fine from an Ontario resident and then sexually assaulting her when she refused to pay.

Halton Regional Police say the accused, a 27-year-old Hamilton man whose full name is Hemant, went to the Oakville home on Feb. 18 to carry out a quarantine compliance check, telling the resident she was in violation of a quarantine order.

Under Canada's Quarantine Act, designated screening officers regularly visit travellers' quarantine locations to ensure they are complying with the mandatory 14-day quarantine requirements. The officers are not police and cannot issue a ticket or conduct an arrest, nor can they demand payment of any kind.

Police allege the accused demanded the resident pay a fine in cash.

"When the victim declined to pay, she was sexually assaulted by the accused," said a police news release issued Wednesday.

Police also said he worked for one of four private security firms hired to help enforce isolation orders.

The force said it will not identify the name of the security company where the man was an employee, but say he has been suspended.

The accused, who now faces charges of sexual assault and extortion, has been released from custody. He is set to appear in court in Milton, Ont. on March 23.

The investigation was prompted by a complaint from the alleged victim, said police spokesperson Const. Steve Elms, who had no other details.

The Public Health Agency of Canada did not immediately respond to a request to comment.

All people entering Canada are required to isolate for 14 days. Designated screening officers visit quarantine locations to confirm the person is where they said they would be in quarantine when they arrived in the country. Failure to comply can result in fines.

Screening officers, contracted by the Public Health Agency of Canada, are not police officers and have no authority to issue a ticket or arrest anyone.

As a result, police said, screening officers should never be demanding payment of any kind during a quarantine-compliance check.

Police said other people might have been victimized and urged anyone who might have had a similar experience to contact their local police.

Issues have previously arisen with quarantine guards. Last year, private security contractors at a quarantine hotel in Melbourne, Australia, were accused of sleeping with guests, the Herald Sun reported.

I won't bore you with more articles, but headlines have been interviewing "experts" as to why the vaccines are being rolled out so slowly, and they come to the big brained conclusion that it's because we don't have more. Jesus Christ, no fucking shit!? You had to interview doctors/professors to figure that one out? The people who have the ability to actually influence that have just been standing around holding their dicks, what do you expect?

Now the cocksuckers running my city are saying there will be a third wave in March and to prepare for another lockdown. Are you stupid motherfuckers trying to nuke the municipal economy bad enough that we're totally dependent on bailouts from big government and let it become a shithole? It hasn't even goddamned happened, we were talking about indoor dining a day ago. Btw. We have plenty of ICU room even with Toronto dumping 30 more people on us, but I think they quit pretending to give a flying fuck about that. Hospitals and interestingly community pharmacies received shipments of a special locked fridge for vaccines that have been sitting empty for weeks. The Liberals shitting the bed on a project, who would have thought.

Cool, we now live in a society where officers go door to door to ensure you don't put a toe out of line even privately in your own home, and everyone (except delivery drivers, they aren't people) is forced into lockdown now if anyone farts sideways. Over a virus, but not all viruses, not the real bad ones even, just THE virus. Definitely warranted and not a disgusting abuse of power. Certainly not more security theater at the bullshit festival.

tl;dr - It's official, the world is certifiably lame and gay. Text wall is just a lengthy leaf spergout.

I just realized "one of" the reasons why this $1.9 TRILLION COVID relief package pisses me off.

I know this is nothing new, but this one in particular just bothers me for some reason.

Parts of my area are still trashed. There's a shoe store that is preparing to open up for the second time. After the first wave of riots it got looted again. No one seems to care that black jobs were lost when looters trashed their own 'hoods because cops bad/dindus good.

This package just seems off to me. So much money yet where the hell is it all going?

If our MSM were actually about sharing information rather than promoting preferred narratives, we'd see an in-depth article exploring how much money Pfizer, Bill Gates, etc. are making from these vaccines and expect to make if they can force people to have them year after year. According to Wion Pfizer alone stand to make $15bn this year. Imagine how much political influence and good press that buys? Imagine how many positive comments on social media you can get for just a sliver of that!

Not sure how to link a video that isn't on YouTube.

I'm enjoying Wion / Gravitas, btw. Not sure who they are or where they came from but they talk at a good information per minute pace and pick up on a few things I don't see elsewhere. For example, Pfizer demanding military bases in return for vaccines. Above worth a few minutes, imo.

EDIT: archive.md service down for me else I would have archived.

They say it's because the J&J vaccine is an actual vaccine, which would be easier to store.

They'll keep with their doublethink to get what they want. Voter ID is racist because blacks don't know how to get an ID and voter ID must be banned. We need to require ID for bank accounts, booze, driving, and more. Vaxport is going to fit in column b.

I miss smiles. I ran into a girl who had feeling for me growing up and had a really cute interaction and she was beaming so much that I could see her smile through her muzzle and her eyes lit up. But it made me really think of how many smaller interactions I used to have, and how much better the interaction would be without the mask.
