I have listened to a bit of Theroux and he has been very sympathetic toward the nationalist spirit (albeit when referring to the Crown or in abstract civilizations of the past).
I imagine if there is a documentary done, the narrative arc will be something like 'from Polemic Wunderkind to ~nuNazi cult leader'. Maybe he would give AF a 10min segment in a broader Trumpism feature/series.
Surely he wouldn't do something as bland as 'The rise of white nationalism in America'.?

I don't think Louis is that bad, atleast he went after both black nationalists and white nationalists instead of pretending one one of those groups existed. His stuff on exposing how fucked up the porn industry is for people, would also be considered "problematic" these days where feminists talk about how it's empowering or some BS.
If you think it will be a hit piece, how can you frame it in good light? Because KF has no political ideology, yet everyone laughed and cringed at the recent AF event. Some things are just so bad you can't make them look good without it being propagada, and AF is one of those things. The best case scenario will be Louis exploring why people take the views they do, and letting people hear some legit grievences people have that drive them to certain groups. However I doubt the groypers will be able to communicate this and will totally blow their opportunity to talk about actual issues Americans face, that would actually be relatable and sympathetic, especially with all the lockdown shit. Thanks to COVID all fringe groups can have a sympathetic angle citing lack of faith due to American politicians fucking them over with lockdown with no stimulus while they give corporations and countries like Israel (Who has single payer healthcare) billions.
I am now seeing American people all over the spectrum hating billionares and the government. In a way it's great, especially with the redpill via Gamestop. But I do dislike how many socialists and communists insist that the government should have just printed even more money since they can give billions away.

In truth, he's a meme just like any other reaction image posted on imageboards, symbolizing satisfaction and relief, sadness and despair, fury and rage, and now smugness and schadenfreude. Most of you already know this, but just to put things in context, Pepe first made history in 2008 as "feels good man" and has evolved since then. He wasn't political until late 2015 and 2016. Even now, I argue he isn't anymore political than anything else. He can be political. He can be apolitical. Matt Furie can whinge all he wants, but his own creation took on a life of its own eons ago. I shed no tears for him, and his pathetic attempts at disavowing his own character deserve nothing but mockery.
The usual pattern of an imageboard meme is to first enter the discourse as a reaction image to symbolize any particular emotion or line of thinking. Imageboard memes tend to stay underground because threads come and go, but the memes that gain traction stay alive. Then the election happened. Trump retweeted a Pepe illustration of him, and imageboard Libertarians immediately fell in love. It was an acknowledgement none of them ever anticipated, but from that point forward, Trump won the unconditional support of users from 4chan, 8chan, et al. This was timed around the same period as Smug Pepe trended hard, so as you can imagine, Trump and Smug Pepe fit together like a hand in glove.
