That's a rough one. It's horrible how it ended, but they did try to tase her, and she could have killed that cop.
She was clearly on drugs or mentally ill. This could be an example of a case where "alternative policing" types say you should send a social worker instead of cops, but what would stop her from stabbing the social worker if they failed to reason with her?
It's sad she was ventilated in front of her kids, but would it have been better if the headline was "Mentally Ill Woman Kills Her Children In The Woods" if she had been left alone as I'm sure some would suggest?

We are in a point where so many people are far gone mentally, drastic measures have to be taken.
If they pose a danger to society and themselves at that immediate moment and all other options have been exhausted... Do what you have to do.

Armed women runs at cop, gets shot, this is after the armed women approached multiple times and the cops backed up trying to keep distance.
Social Worker or not on scene at some point it becomes "me (my coworkers/the public) or them whose going home whose gets the body bag".
Those poor kids though, I hope they end up alright.

That's horrible. Really sad. I'd like to offer a counter-narrative to the "she clearly had mental issues / was on drugs" take though. And no, this wont be putting the blame on the police in its place. I think the situation may have been fucked to begin with. What news did she watch? That's my question, simple as. Because she's probably pretty unlikely to have been reading Kiwifarms Happenings section. She's probably unlikely to be an avid Daily Wire or Timcast IRL viewer. There's a strong chance all of her information came from strong Leftist / Progressive sources. Which for the past two years have been 24/7 pumping out a narrative that cops love killing Black people for sport, that the country is institutionally racist, that any Black person found alone by cops is going to be shot for doing nothing wrong.
What I'm saying is there are two categories of being divorced from reality. One is from internal problems and the other is from constantly being misled as to what reality is. We all have a responsibility to question what we're told and to educate ourselves but all of us here know pretty damn well how much heavily funded brainwashing is out there. It's in our schools bombarding Black kids from infancy that they are victims and live in a country that hates them. It's in every politicians speech. City Councils are passing bills to defund or disarm the police on the idea that they're some rogue force that has to be constrained from their genocidal behaviour.
Listen to what this woman keeps yelling - about how people will know their names, about not to harm her babies. I think she believes they're going to gun her and her kids down.
She may well have a mental disorder, she could be on meth for all I know. Just the circumstances of the call and the other witnesses suggest there's something not right with her. But I wouldn't be surprised if also a big part of her behaviour and what resulted in her death was 24/7 being told racist America wanted to kill her kids.

Look at the recent studies that just came out about perception vs. reality.
The reality is that cops killed 27 unarmed black people in a year. But when a survey was done, the most common answer was thousands, especially from liberals. Heck, 5% of the liberals thought it was tens of thousands.
So when you have 5-10% of the population thinking cops kill tens of thousands of black people every year, and a majority that thinks thousands are, you are going to start to see more of this. Because more and more black people will genuinely think that their lives are at stake. They are going to think that the black kid that got shot while face down in the subway is the norm and not a tragic exception.

Also, the second graph of that survey is interesting. The one that states that in reality, 24% of overall police fatalities were black. Yet the liberals think that the number is 55-60%. That's a huge gap brought about by the MSM. Hell, even conservatives are way off and they think the number is 37%.
When you have a bunch of people that think 60% of police fatalities are black (when they make up 13% of the population), and that the number is in the tens of thousands, there is no arguing with them at that point. Hell, if the numbers were actually that bad, I'd be on their side entirely.
If that was the case there wouldn't be any more black people in America.

Fun fact: The real number is 27 if you round up. 10,000 per year would be 27 per day. So the number that is the actual for the entire year is the liberal perception of what happens every day. That's a GIANT disconnect.
