Basically there was a split in the alt-right a few years ago that produced the AmNats and the WigNats. The AmNats, consisting of people like Nick Fuentes, are concerned with GOP entryism and "optics". They want to be accepted into, and ultimately replace, the current mainstream conservative movement. They aren't really white nationalists either, so you will see asians/blacks/mexicans/gay jews hanging around their ranks from time to time. People have pointed out some (I think fair) comparisons to Sargon of Applebee's liberalists movement, and I do think the AmNats are best looked as a civic nationalist movement. The WigNats are basically your bog standard Neo-Nazis/Pro-White types that were what the alt-right kinda was originally. People like Richard Spencer, James Allsup, or David Duke. Since you're a Euro, think of a guy like Varg Vikernes, I guess. The WigNats don't give a shit about optics or entryism anymore, and at this point they're really just trying to build their own communites/movements mostly seperate from mainline politics. Ironically, the WigNats arguably have better optics than the AmNats do.

CPAC is the mainstream conservative conference that is held every year. It's basically just a neocon cesspool. The Groypers are what Nick Fuentes calls his fans. They're one of many disparate groups in the former alt-right, the terms AmNat and WigNat refer more to categories than they do any particular movement or group.

Richard Spencer was promoted in part so that he could become the boogieman du jour. Media types correctly calculated that he would channel a sort of stereotypical WASP/Bond villain persona. Similarly, Bannon gave significant though indirect support to Spencer, curiously in part through an Iranian by descent, Jason Reza Jorjani, who wanted Trump to perform regime change in Iran.

I'm not clear on all of the on the ground coordination, but it seems to me that Spencer was the dupe: Part of the Trump 2016 model was to assemble a contradictory, improbable, and likely one time coalition. And, corralling actual Rightist (that is, people who watched things like Greatest Story Never Told or otherwise had come to reject WWII Mythology) was crucial to getting Trump past the post.

Charlottlesville, whatever happened there, had the effect of flushing and neutralizing actual Rightist coordination.

Enter one of the disaster's attendees: Nicky Fedentes.

It was my opinion soon after he came on scene that he was the new Richard Spencer in that he would be the corralling force for remaining "alt-Right" energies and direct them toward the GOP and Trump. In addition to this, Nickelodeon would be the new boogieman.

Please note, I'm not defending Spencer (he, too, was/is a grifter with delusions of ruling over people.) Indeed, I am about to compare the Spencer/Fedentes brands to illustrate the ridiculousness of appeals to "optics" by Fed.

Unlike Richard Spencer, Fedentes always has had cartoonishly bad optics as an unaccomplished twink looking, upper middle class brat. His brand can only ever appeal to teenagers and immature young 20 somethings, which suggests to me that Bannon/MILO, who promoted Fedentes, were going for a TikTok strategy (or maybe we just have decayed, as a society, this much more in latter part of the 2010s.)

For example, Nickelodeon constantly shids on wage earners and comes off as frankly a really nasty spoiled rotten punk to the average Boomer radio listener. Meanwhile, Fed using the old "say something spicy and then back away from it technique." He switches back and forth between calling his holocaust cookie jokes "irony" or his denials of his sincerity "irony." In effect, there isn't any truth for this fudgepacking, homo-body builder cock sucker: It's all just a performance (curiously like the grift of Alex Jones, only Jones' grift is the ultra-alpha and Fedentes' is that of a pillow biting 100lbs twink.)

At the end of the day, Fedentes and his cult of sexually confused youngsters are still called neo-Nazi White supremacists. But, in terms of optics, Spencer actually had the better simply because he is a well spoken, relatively tall, handsome White man who can point to something of a career and says he cares about the plight of the working man (again, not defending or suggesting you get involved with his grift.)

Fedentes, meanwhile, at 22 is a college dropout who never had a job and looks like a cross between a twig and a monkey's ass and shids on wage slaves whilst hanging out with pederasts like MILO.

With Fedentes, I think the returns on investment are much more limited than the 2015 "alt-Right." Whether or not that is the case, it may not matter: it appears to me that the "Right wing" version of the ZOG world order was put back in its place by the dominant "neo-liberal/democratic-socialist/progressive" stream of ZOG. As such, the only use they have for the Fedentes' out there is to map out networks of easily indictable spergs/fed posters/etc. This serves to effectively criminalize and make economically impossible publicly dissenting from post-modernism.

My guess is that by age 30, Fedentes will have done the Heimbach routine, pointing to substance abuse and "toxic Internet culture" for "radicalizing" him.

I can promise you, the AFPAC leadership are in no way remotely traditional Catholics. Fedentes dropped his claim to "traditional Catholicism" after guys were calling him out for being a liar. That's why he uses vague "we're Christian" messaging, which appeals to rootless Americans who don't like committing to a rule.

Clearly, you can tell I support Catholicism; while you cannot know this since this is the internets, I tell you that I have been Roman Catholic for over 12 years (attending Tridentine Mass primarily for about 10 years.) I sincerely believe it is the true Church that Christ founded and has given to us as an Arc amidst a fallen world that decays more and more, dragging ever more souls to eternal separation from God.
