As for the OP,
@Obamarama, I'm already fairly familiar with this subject matter. So right away, I can tell you that there's a bunch of issues needing to be fixed or addressed in terms missing information and a general lack of interesting content worth presenting:
1. The commentary community is far larger than just these 5-6 “renaissance” guys* you mentioned. Right off the top my head, there's
Diesel Patches (who's arguably become the new Leafy),
Optimus,
Just a Robot,
Cyrus,
Spoctor,
Nawnii,
Just Stop,
Manga Kamen,
Omegon,
Prison Mate Luke, and
Just Jargon. There's also some other past creators that managed to ruin their own careers, like
Princess Ash publicly harassing her artists and
JustDestiny forging a legal threat against a teenager. It wouldn't be fair to say the channels listed in the OP all represent the current commentary community.
*The Right Opinion I wouldn't even include in the group, considering how he tends to put out incredibly long video essays rather than that of direct criticism or commentary toward a particular individual. Though maybe that's just me.
2. From the channels I listed, I know a bunch of them have been embroiled in a ton (petty) drama within the community. For example, Prison Mate Luke, Omegon, and Diesel Patches had all blindly supported Pyro + shat all over the accuser when the initial accusations came out. Tom and Just Stop both called those guys out, which lead to all 3 creators having to remove their videos and issue a correction. Luke in particular has been
getting a lot of shit from other creators due to his inability to take criticism, along with his habit of churning out poorly researched videos for the sake of going on a moral crusade. He's considered one of the worst channels amongst the community.
Tobi, an ex-commentary channel,
got called out for being a hypocrite and only ended up stoking the flames with her responses. There was a lot of back-and-forth drama between her and the other channels until she finally decided to call it quits. Her last video was from 3 months back.
Point is, there's far more drama happening outside of Tom being MIA, bootleg bloodsports, and this one particular instance of John Swan shooting himself in the face.
3. There's 0 reason to mention Zaptie at the end of the OP if you're not going to explain who he was or how he got screwed over by the community. I've already covered what happened to him on
ImAllexx's thread, which you should have linked to his name for the sake of consistency.
4. For formatting, don't have all of the separate accounts hidden behind spoilers.
TL;DR: OP needs far more substance and relevant materials (like videos and screenshots) added. The current info presented is very surface level and feels underdeveloped.
