Other than the Powerpuffs being results of experiments, what's wrong with those eye colours on dark-skinned characters? I never saw it as a race thing, since some good dark-skinned characters/OCs that isn't about race has shades of blue or green colours to make the eyes more striking against the dark skin. Does Twitter/Tumblr really see eye colours on fictional beings about race?

I spent like ten minutes breaking down the elements of this person's work and why it pisses me off but this anon explained it a lot more succinctly.

The thing is the art isn't even that bad, really. Some of the other characters from that thread even looked fine. The artist obviously understands how to draw and how to use the elements of art, but for whatever reason injected terrible design into it. Consistent line weight, good form and decent style, but a whole bunch of random shit just thrown in there. Why are there so many random colors in each character's design? Why are so many of them physically repulsive? Why do they all look like they dove headfirst through a Salvation Army? I wouldn't know what any of these people do or where they're from if not for the text next to them. This is all without mentioning they're meant for a cartoon pilot, which leaves about half of them overdesigned for any practical animation.
Take just about any character in this thread and you'll get the same advice to improve it: Fewer details, more cohesive color choices, better proportions, and absolutely no Pride bullshit slapped on top. Don't randomly turn characters black or muslim just to be woke, don't make literally all of your characters disabled unless it's relevant to the story they're made to tell, and don't be a shithead on Twitter. You generally follow that, you're golden.
