Honestly I am seeing two kinds of reaction around me when it comes to this shitshow.
Both are paranoid in nature but guess which one leads to happiness:
First you have the mask STASI, closed at home and actively snitching on everyone around them.
Second you have folks who are mistrustful of the government.

I personally ascribe to the second group and I will now explain why.
The italian government loves to cook the books.
Financial crisis: every contract no matter how short still counts as a person being gainfully employed for a year, you would have people working a day and still be counted as a +1 in the statistics.
Current crisis: all deaths are covid deaths.
Personal anecdote, step mom works as the director of a old folks home.
Old lady snaps her neck and dies, still counted as covid death by coroner because "We can't exclude covid as a cause."

So yeah, the government is not here to help.

Being paranoid of your government is simply healthy skepticism

Ronald Reagan said it best when said the most suspecious and scary line you can hear is "Hi, Im with the government and Im here to help".

It's unhealthy when everything under the sun is a conspiracy every shooting, every world event, hell the snow in Texas was fake snow. Sometimes not all times but sometimes shit might actually be real. Where was these accusations when Swine flu was a thing or SARS-2003? oh nobody cared except a few insane people but now because the power of the internet the crazies got together and call it a hoax even though all signs point to its a real event that will go down in history... When the electrical company is telling people they don't have to pay their bills in the sense they wont cut people off. We should probably take it just a little serious.

Go eat some maple syrup, you fricking leaf.

One journalist have some guts to go against governor Greta for how she handled the Corona-chan data in nursing homes in Michigan.

Reporter Charlie LeDuff to sue Michigan Gov. Whitmer over nursing home coronavirus data

'All the way to the Supreme Court, Madam,' LeDuff wrote in a tweet

A Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist announced plans to sue Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer for the release of nursing home coronavirus data.

Longtime reporter Charlie LeDuff announced on Twitter that he and the Mackinac Center, a Michigan-based free market think tank, are "preparing a lawsuit" against the Democratic governor.

LeDuff – who won a Pulitzer Prize in 2001 for his work with the New York Times – said Whitmer "refuses to turn over COVID death data and accurate nursing home numbers to the public."

"All the way to the Supreme Court, Madam," LeDuff wrote in the tweet before thanking the Mackinac Center for taking up their court case.

Whitmer's office didn't immediately respond to Fox News' request for comment on LeDuff's planned lawsuit.

"The public has a right to know. Above all, the public has a need to know. We shut down the entire economy, we interrupted our children's lives, all in the name of protecting the most vulnerable. We now know this was the institutionalized elderly. If we could not protect them, at the very least we deserve an explanation from Madam Governor," LeDuff told Fox News in an email on Monday.

"If there's something more to it than that, let's say gross incompetence or gross negligence or gross press conferences designed to cover the facts, then she needs to answer for it. As I've always said, the power lies with the people, not the political parties," he added.

Whitmer has come under fire recently for her handling of nursing homes and other long-term care facilities during the coronavirus pandemic.

Several Republican state legislators recently called for a "full investigation" into Whitmer’s actions in a pair of letters to Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel and acting U.S. Attorney General Monty Wilkinson.

Any person with a half of brain knew this was gonna last longer then 2 weeks when it hit every continent you played yourself...
Then why did the lockdowns in Georgia only last 2 weeks?
Why do surgeons wear masks when you are being cut open? To keep contaminants out which include viruses. This is basic germ theory we are talking about and has been well established for over 100 years. Your mouth is a contaminant and is open and exposed, covering it with a rag helps reduce the shitty particles you emit and take in from simply breathing or talking. Is this a 100% cure all no. Does this help yes. The fact we need to have these conversations in modern times makes me concerned for the future when dumb people can't even grasp basic concepts.
This is literally not germ theory.
I can't tell if you have an intelligence level low enough to make an inbred slug feel like an astrophysicist, or if you are just being a disingenuous asshole and thus only sounding retarded by accident.
Sometimes not all times but sometimes shit might actually be real.
You're right in general except you are wrong about this one.

Actual fucking scientists have put out peer-reviewed academic research that says this virus is not as lethal as was initially reported. Not even close.
But please, keep fucking spitting out cheap talking points and acting like we are the one's denying science while you consoom doomer propaganda and brag about what a good little obedient sheep you are.

So please.
Go get your new untested prototype vaccine, then go submit to routine nasal swabs and soon possibly even butt penetration because your precious mcguffin doesn't actually stop the spread, while you continue to wear your magic mask talisman and stand 6ft away from people as if they all had cooties, then come right back here and tell us how we are the stupid ones.

For the first time in God knows how long heard children playing at the public pre-school/child care center next door. Didn't see many, but a few is better than nothing. Have also noticed traffic on the roads is picking up, maybe 80% of normal.

Heard anecdotally there have been 2,000,000 signatures on Newsom recall petitions. Two more weeks to go. Get all the signatures possible. You know the state will do their best to invalidate every signature they can

Opening Schools = Racist

just a fun article with the LA teachers union crying racism over having to go back to work. Who would have thought that making the career of teaching apply to the laziest individuals would eventually lead to this?

"Hmmm...I can teach from home and be paid while doing less work..Or I can go back to constant work and actually do my job being paid the same amount."

Used to be that a great, respectable job for women was being a teacher. But now that women can be CEOs and engineers, the profession has collapsed to the lowest common denominator. I don't think there are any data on school enrollment yet, but anecdotally in places like NJ I'm hearing that the enrollment into private/parochial schools is massively through the roof. I would not be surprised if all this shit was the beginning of the end for the current public school system as we know it—at least in places like California and Yankeeland. At least the public school near me in Florida has had kids in school for months now. Less, sure, but not to an absurd level.

"recently" :story: IIRC, we were still putting COVID patients in ordinary nursing homes after even Cuomo stopped doing it.

Several Republican state legislators recently called for a "full investigation" into Whitmer’s actions in a pair of letters to Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel and acting U.S. Attorney General Monty Wilkinson
Attorney General Dana Nessel (D) is probably not going to do anything unless Whitmer somehow becomes as persona non grata as Cuomo has.

The great irony of all this is that if there were a race card to be played, it would be AGAINST the teachers unions.

Not only according to them are poorer black kids less likely to get education from at-home learning (remember black people are too stupid to use the internet according to our President), but also black parents need their kids to go to school so that they can go to work and get money for basic living.

This SHOULD be a pretty easy argument to flip back at them, but nobody of any influence will have the balls to do it. Or if they even do, CNN will just accuse them of lying or being COVID deniers or something.

This appears to be similar to what Florida, South Dakota and Georgia have. There is a caveat that local county judges can introduce restrictions if hospitalization increases which will shut down places like Houston, Dallas and Austin since they're all liberal controlled places.

A friend's elderly relative (80+), in Germany, just died directly after getting the vaccine. Tests revealed that they had undiagnosed leukemia that should have been caught in the typical yearly screening, except that the screening was postponed due to lockdowns.

California (mostly soCal) Randoms:

A family member works with Stanford University and reports that the school isn't planning to come back on campus until the fall semester. (They've been trying to bring juniors. and seniors back for graduation.)

The spring ren faire has been cancelled.
My old summer camp in North Cal is trying to hold their June camp, but says they might have to cancel closer in.
An August event I like to attend is refusing to cancel but will not offer official statements. They have a high SJW population, and there's been a lot of fights on facebook between those who want to hold the event so they can have something to look forwards to, and those who think it's irresponsible to create a group scenario.
A paranoid friend rescheduled her June wedding for next summer.
A few people I know who have been vaccinated all complain about arm pain, or exhaustion, the next day, but are overall fine so far.
Almost everyone who isn't angry about lockdowns has complained to me that they're depressed. Several marrages are very rocky.
Gyms are still closed obviously. Dining is outdoor only.
Most of my female friends (20s and early 30s) are against the vaccine because they're worried it'll affect fertility. Or they're not not worried about Covid anymore. The paranoid friend has been trying to drive around town to catch a leftover dose but no one will give her one because she's like 26.

Mask complience is 100%. indoors, as far as I can see. Restaurants have signs out asking you to wear them whenever you're not eating "so we can please stay open!" but nobody is enforcing it. My waitress yesterday was wearing hers below her nose.
I've started jogging to the grocery store every day or two and it's 50/50 on people wearing masks outdoors. I don't wear mine and nobody's ever given me any trouble.

I signed it. Can't post proof as it would be a massive power level.
