I think Fuentes making the media an actual enemy would bolster his base and message but he'd also permenantly cut off the possible delusion he could get a TV interview. Reminds me of those stats showing the populace at large doesn't trust mainstream media and yet that same populace takes most of their info from it. It's a weird hypocrisy. We never fully got over the spell (not literal) of the talking box in our home, to the point where even youtubers who make far more money online still dream of having a TV spot.

Funny aside: There was once a former FBI agent or something on Colbert Report over a decade ago. The guy was promoting his book and then started talking about how television is brainrot. Colbert tried to be clever saying, "You know you're on TV right now, right?" The ex-agent just looked him in the eye and repeated that TV is trash and people should read a book.

That kind of "zero fucks given" approach wins people over, especially when your opposing side is such a smarmy bitch.
