Holy shit, what fucking universe have I slid into this time? Oddworld is Bush-era liberalism distilled into actually interesting gameplay and worldbuilding concepts. Stranger's Wrath is especially great. The politics were something I disagreed with, but I'd never argue the games should be changed in any way.

Lorne Lanning "liked" some libertarianish tweets on Twitter a couple years ago, stuff about gun rights being good and anti-Hillary, from that they extrapolated to him being an alt-right Gamergator nazi chud.

I'm pretty sure Lorne is quite libertarian in the original sense of the word, in Ars Technica's War Stories interview he expresses quite a few very libertarian viewpoints. (As opposed to say a RON PAUL 2012 or Libertarian Party sense of the word.) I think he probably just thinks of himself as "liberal" though, which would be technically true as well I suppose.

The Hogwarts Legacy team has made some changes to try to appease the whiners. From what it sounds like, you can choose whatever voice you want regardless of the student's body. And I would presume you get to choose which bathrooms and sleeping areas you get to go into. They'll be happy with this, right?

They went to great effort to please people who were gender-obsessed, but fell short in one instance: players' pronouns were dictated by the voice they chose, and player could not directly choose pronouns themselves.

This is why you don't try to please them. You can't do it. And in some cases, trying to please them but falling short only makes them ANGRIER than if you hadn't tried at all.

I think that's a Steam clout thing. I've run into a few people that had 1,000+ games on Steam when they had played less than 5% of them. I guess if you have nothing to be proud of in your life, it's something.
