Yknow these are all things associated with ADHD. Ignoring messages due to social overstimulation, struggling with multiple step instructions, monopolising conversations/making non sequiturs etc etc

What the comic fails to mention is you've got a responsibility to handle those things. Like sure, if you're struggling, people should give you some leeway, but this comic is just painting it as UwU I haven't responded to any texts for two months but you can't be mad at me! My flatmates are ableist for yelling if I never do any chores and just lie around in dirty underwear, spending my money on children's toys instead of my share of utilities, because I'm not well (see a certain Alpaca farm).

It's the same thinking that's motivating Labelle. "I got fucked up as a kid by a predator, so I'm just going to embrace my pathology and if I hurt kids, well that's just my coping strategy! It's a nonsexual kink you bigot". The illnesses you have or the trauma you've experienced aren't your fault, but unfortunately you still have to deal with its consequences and work at being a decent person. That's a shitty cross to have to bare, but that's life. Even something as simple as anxiety requires you to expose yourself to the anxiety rather than avoiding it, because otherwise you just get worse.

"You're valid! Self care!" has a lot to answer for.

I am not sure how the impact on gay men is playing out. Possibly for them it’s more about being “cancelled”, because a pushy transman trying to make him accept her vagina isn’t likely to be a physical safety threat. Most of the lesbians I know however are being very very careful. These men are dangerous to women. Nobody wants to re-enter any kind of “dating scene” or event that is advertised or open to the public. Social events are very tightly vetted.

It’s creepy as fuck.

Maybe powerleveling but back in the myspace days I messaged a (still) well known feminist activist about men being feminists. She explained that some feminist women did not like them in womens spaces due to a realistic fear that they'd take over said space. That same woman is now trans rights all the way. Makes ya thunk.

To be fair, MTF pose a greater threat to lesbians than FTM do to gay men. They could try to cancel gay men but they don’t have as much clout as MTF do in feminist circles. Plus lesbian MTF don’t transition as well and some of them still have their dicks.

It's really wild living in an age where people, especially women, are called transphobic for not wanting potential predators in their social circles. Also maybe powerleveling, but I've witnessed a fair share of "trans girls" going on about how much they're turned on by the idea of transitioning and being a girl with a dick, and then getting salty when people gradually distance from them. Like, what do you even tell someone who is trying to disguise their fetishization as dysphoria, and so blatantly? "I'm sorry that it hurts your feelings that you're the reason most women can't safely walk alone at night?" "Thanks for reminding women to always hold their keys as a potential weapon when they pass people alone on the street?"

From what I've heard, (real) lesbians are moving back underground. They've had to give up dating apps and online dating completely. Any spaces they had are gone, and the previous members of those spaces have to organize things practically undercover.

Of course, this comes with the very sad consequence that young lesbians will see nowhere to turn to other than girl dick land.
