General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Seems Haachama is dropping the story content for now, from the video description:

Thanks to everyone who has been watching the Haachama series. I was going to put out a video of the ending, but with the new rules, it became difficult to finish it. I'm really sorry to everyone who was looking forward to it. I'm also very sorry that I won't be able to finish it. I've decided to keep this series of videos private. I hope to finish it someday, so I hope you'll remember us and wait for us until that day. Thank you very much for your support. (translation by deepl)
I wonder if the new rules relate to how freely she has been using the fan works before explicitly getting permission or something else.

yeah, sounds like the usual copyright crap, cover probably wasn't sure about the permissions and license of the used works (and the unintended effects) and didn't want some troll to come after them, so they blocked it as a whole. also would explain why she privated stuff retroactively.

Apparently the issue was from Youtube-kun. The all knowing AI decided that the Haachama series was promoting self harm and violence and the videos had to be removed to avoid strikes on the channel.
Also that text is also a DeepL translation so the word 'permission' might just be a mistranslation. I don't think Cover or the fans who made the content would suddenly have a problem now.

Someone on /vt/ is posted an archive of chammers privated vods.

Not sure why the duck is giving advices about not being able to speak japanese but i guess it can be helpful once translators get to work
But it is actually really insightful. They use the generation concept for ID and Holostars but do not in reference for EN. And this is likely a corporate policy as well. We were just talking about how Cover needs to look at expanding or managing the EN market in a different, less Japanese, skew. That is an alright start as it sets the stage for an EN expansion unhindered by the typical hierarchal relationship. . . more of a 'welcome to the club' mentality. Can't wait for western style hazing sets in.
is this how it feels to go on dates with a cute girl bros?
Edit : Oh shit, Sora wearing glasses is very cute.
I wonder if it's possible to make a bigger simp bait than this.
She has gone the full Chizuru Ichinose route. If there was any non-idol outfit that would work on Sora, something referencing Chizuru would be it. I'm referencing the ultimate simp manga Kanojo, Okarishimasu, of which I am a shameless consumer of. Mami needs to get hit by a truck or at least get crabs if she doesn't already have them.
that's not the good type of abyss tho, it's the kind that stares back with a cute voice whispering haatchama-chama.
think there's a stream later today, feel free and join to get confused like the rest of us.

in the meantime might wanna check out a cute eldritch cultist octopuss for maximum comf before taking the nip pill (never go full watame).
Don't listen to him. He's trying to keep you down, fettered to the sane lifestyle. Go the H route. . .
But in all seriousness, if you aren't too keen on reading translations, I would check out the debuts of each of the EN members and then look at the the first or second gaming stream that they have. It is actually a pretty good metric. . . though my personal recommendation is to start with either Dark Deception or Muse Dash (via a proxy because the CCP Insects still suck).

That actually seems likely. It is ok for them to promote 13 Reasons Why, but this was definitely a promotion of self harm. I absolutely despise this double standard. I've said it before, YT needs to just become extremely reactionary. . . which is unlikely given the pressure the idiots in the U.S. Congress spew.

Edit: I have grown to really enjoy Aqua streams. . . her weird awkward mannerisms remind me of a pre-hate filled self, and I appreciate that look in an old mirror. Also, I like Apex so her streams are always nice. Sweet child is having a blast at the horse-racing thing:

And Korone is racing with a different kind of horsepower:

I'm not surprised if the AI thinks that a virtual anime girl's head being cut off is haram. And it's certainly not someone from management being mad at her or else this whole lore wouldn't exist at all.

I think the best example would be Magia Record. Im very sure the franchise already got very large following around the world. What did Aniplex do? Implement very harsh geolock, release outside Japan after a year of Japanese Release (basically killing quite alot of hype) and it's only for US and CANADA ONLY
You could play it in mostly any phone in android at least the problem is that the game was very uninspired because it was just FGO with more characters in battle, and with FGO come all the problems aka the gacha was garbage, people wasting 900 bucks in getting Kami Madoka and getting shit with no pity

Kantai Collection also like this, except this time without even any outside Japan release, despite large fandom around the world demanding the release.
Kantai Collection not releasing in USA is mostly Kadokawa refusing to do it even when thousands of companies were willing to put the servers, some believe that the committee of KC believe USA was beneath them because they took their sweet ass time to include ships that were not japanese, China took notice and fucked them with creating their own version without any of their flaws and english version to boot that work in a toaster, funny enough the fandom of both sides are best friends and even concluding that Kadokawa has fucked KC fans a lot of times (example the Intrepid debacle and they wanking hard Axis ships)

Ah yes the dream is real bros

And Korone is racing with a different kind of horsepower:
That is why she is my oshi, she just dont give a crap about what the others are playing, is she playing the steam version? Edit: nvm she is playing the PS3 version

depends how long it takes till someone that has a problem with it notices. the bigger the company the more layers and bureaucracy you have, which means they're slow and don't always make sense.
but if it was youtube there's at least a chance, they have to revise their policy actions constantly anyway. getting a corporation to budge is much harder.

As a follow up she also had the same slide in japanese and she said something interesting. Internally HololiveJP is considered to be an idol group but EN is a content creator group. That's probably why theu did away with the gen concept. It also must thereby make sense that priority is placed on other creative talents rather than speaking japanese or even singing for that matter.

Here's a translated clip of this

I don't think Cover is big enough to have multiple layers of bureaucracy

This is helpful.

In completely unrelated news, do you guys think sending the audition with Ghost of Tsushima footage will make them more willing keep a kiwi's audition? Asking for a friend.

Not exactly a movie I was expecting the rabbit to watch.

That shit is my favorite movie, so I've been sitting here for like 5 minutes staring at the screen and trying to come up with some cross-reference joke, but the best I got is wondering how long until Pekora leaves a letter for Moona under a block of obsidian next to Fubuki's big tree.

"No Japanese allowed! Singing stream"

Yes, YES! Pander to us more, please.

Checked plenty of her official covers.. They are plastic in how perfect they are. There is no character in most of them.
But live singing streams of hers are just unf.

There's also no real idol culture for them to connect to here and the strictures of Japan's idol culture are, to put it bluntly, somewhat offensive to western sensibilities. The nearest thing we had (in the US anyway) were Disney stars like the Jonas Brothers which everyone other than Christian fundamentalists either derided or found creepy.

I think it more on the YouTube end. Remembered how those video's themes are subtle violence and self-harm. With her channel somehow end up in YouTube kid recommendation, I doubt even some YouTube COO Haaton can help her if we have some concerned parents reporting her on the ground of promoting self-harm etc.

At least the whole thing proves that she's an elite content creator and serves as the "bare minimum" for future Hololive auditions.
