Basically, the Democrats are going for the double-jeopardy-in-all-but-name route of a federal prosecution of Chauvin if he gets acquitted on the state level. Probably on civil rights violations-related charges.

The odds of a conviction are very slim, but the point is the bankrupt and ruin him with the process no matter what. The Feds have all the taxpayer money they want to bring to bear, while Chauvins attorneys cannot be paid in innocence.

Now, you might be thinking that undermining the civil rule of law that binds together a peaceful society by weaponizing the process for political and racial ends would be a bad idea, but there could never be long term consequence for short term gain. Right?

It's the OJ Simpson approach: If a criminal trial ends not guilty, use the civil suit's lower standards to find him liable and force the defendant to give everything in damages, and if they off themselves....see who or what else you can get to pay those damages, leaving them with nothing to their name or to give those who survive them.

it also ignores all the personal grudges and other grievances people will act upon. if there's chaos and societal breakdown, who cares about another corpse dangling from a tree?

Too powerleveling for most of it. One thing he did was buy a master tape of one of those Sunday morning local forums where they discussed racism. Four gorillas in cheap suits, doing that lean in thing with hands folded to show you they're a business nigga. A ginger host. You know the type, just a table and a dark set with a spotlight on it, like "inside the actors studio".
He trotted this out fairly regularly when I was trying to finish real studying. "Watch and learn!" he sneered. It was his catchphrase.
He claimed he paid $200 for this master tape and this was when minimum wage was about $3.75.

If you didn't stare at it totally transfixed by the negro plight, mouth agape, you were yelled at or written up. He almost got sexually excited during particular parts of it. This was during a time of huge white flight where my parents bought a house and there was serious nigger action during any warm months. I saw my first murder at about 8 years old. Arsons, dea raids, huge nigger fights in broad daylight.
I was getting shit out of my locker when 5 apes attacked me. one doing a failed dropkick and as I stood there, seething he yanked me into his office and gave me a lecture and then detention because racism. How dare I be present for the attack I guess.

I got even now and then.
I put a rotting fish in his desk.
One time I sneezed and the huge glob of snot flew perfectly into his coffee thermos .Etc. One of the other homeroom tards destroyed his vcr, tape inside. I wasn't dipping back then but I would have spit all over his classroom if I did.
I commented the shit out of his obituary a few years back making the newspaper Institute a paid obituary tribute section.
He really looked like one of those hand wringing Jewish antisemitic cartoons. I still fucking hate him.

There's a reason why I detest the "traditionalists"

If the Religious Right led to the Woke Left as a backlash, imagine what will happen with a right-wing backlash that decides to be even more brutal than the Woke Left was?

These trads are the kind of people who if they had the chance, they would be sure to "actually conserve" via infiltration and moralism so they can succeed where the fundies failed.

The myth that the old Religious Right were harmless and powerless is one that the trads try to reinforce at every turn and you have a lot of those puritan redneck fucks right here on this very forum.

But I'll admit the fundies were relatively sedate in comparison to the Woke Left for a variety of reasons, namely technological differences and the fact the social conservatives were too decentralized for their own good in.

But the fundies' own idiocy was enough to trigger a generational backlash that was extremely massive and disproportionate. Imagine the kind of backlash the Woke Left would suffer if by some miracle the pendulum does begin to swing back.

The Woke Left and their corporate overlords are doing everything they can to turn the rest of America into California.

If there is a backlash against the Woke Left that's actually viable to the point the corporations can't effectively snuff it out and puts the pendulum back into motion again, then I fear the Trad Right will respond to the behavior of the Woke Left over the past ten years in kind with a vengeance.

Woke Leftists want to turn the rest of America into Portland or SoCal and any traditionalist movement that somehow can gain viability can and will try to turn the rest of America into Appalachia.

It's not gonna be pretty.
