But at the time, right after Baked Alaska had crashed a funeral on RV6, Nick's dlive chat (this was before he was banned) was split between support for baked.

I think more than the viewership, it was the "Groyper Wars" that did it. When they basically shut down Donald Trump Jr's event, heckling Dan Crenshaw and had big name "conservatives" like Shapiro talk about him, that's when he started to really get the idea that he was a somebody politically, rather than just a political streamer. I do feel a bit sorry reading that, even if he entirely brought it on himself by going to a tiki torch neonazi rally.
