To the first question: Leftoids have become increasingly dominated by "no fun allowed" types. A cadre of activists/PMCs occupied positions of power and started pushing this notion of ideas/words being violence, and this has generated a lot of resentment (particularly in the creative space). This isn't strictly a right-wing position either - many left-wing people who are not into this liberal arts college horseshit also resent this, drawing comparisons to the moral majority movement of the 1980s and 1990s (just with racism/sexism/transphobia/homophobia as the bad guy instead of satan).

To the second question: Trans are a somewhat unique in that big tech is filled with them and so they wield immense influence over online social etiquette despite being a very small group.

Nyanners isn't really that young. IIRC she's around 30 so her biggest bridge-burnings and opinion shifts happened definitively in her late 20s. Although I guess that's par for the course with terminally-online women.

Why 'leftoid'? Are they subhuman? And I've never seen a mirror 'rightoid' term yet.
Also on words being violence, a human rights lawyer going against an antiterrorism-but-really-anti-protest law just got killed by being stabbed on the face. Guess it's more of a first-world problem that words are being treated as violence when around here, words still get answered with violence if the politicos don't like it.

Disregarding the fact that she's a borderline hikikomori, it'd surprise me if they use the company Iphones they have for face-tracking for anything besides that, especially considering how many times others have flubbed with it. I'd imagine everyone has their own separate phone.

I should mention, I wasn't watching so I can't say for certain.
