Quite recently I was thinking, maybe try to get Lucas involved in stock trading. It requires no physical work so it would appeal to him in that fashion, and if you’re broke, there’s stock options!! I've yet to tire of restating the obvious: Lucas is incapable of "bettering his situation." He's a retard.

Lucas is incompetent. He historically struggles with tasks that have an end goal, like paying bills, or graduating from high school. It's why he has a payee and no degree. Lucas also finds it very difficult to behave himself. It's why he was kicked out of his Fart Chamber, and numerous shelters. Lucas can not care for himself, and makes it very difficult and unrewarding for others to care for him.

He nonetheless expects others to care for him, because others have always cared for him, but for a disastrous, brief period of quasi independence between his exit from HS and first trip to the laughing academy. The word "entitled" is used too much to describe Lucas, but unavoidable. This attitude extends beyond the basic necessities of life, which he feels others owe him, to the puss puss of the young, which he also deserves access to.

It's fascinating and boring.
