Why has nobody called what happened at the Georgia capitol an insurrection?

I have a similar story.

2nd Grade. I was of...let's say a lighter brown than most Latino kids. I get pushed out of a recess line by a couple of larger kids. They push me around for a bit, then one gets me in a headlock. I retaliate the only way I know how -- I bite his arm. Hard. He lets go. Guess who gets in trouble?

I have plans to fly out to Illinois after the COVID scare has lifted to visit where the presiding principal retired to and died, and take a midnight leak on his grave.

The actual correct answer is that it's because the kinds of people who make the decision on what to go after are all educated in the same schools, hence they all think in the same socially-liberal slant.

By "Republican values," do you mean "muh small gubmint muh deregulation muh tax cuts for corporations" that brought us to exactly where we are now? This was the Republican Party from Reagan to Trump. It's all give big business lots of free shit, if small business/ordinary Americans benefit then it's a nice side effect. Corporations got all sorts of benefit and influence and the influence of big money increased more and more. Foreign wars in the Middle East and lots of immigrants here at home.

As bad as it is for the US, it's hilarious to see all these Republicans getting backstabbed by Wall Street and big money the second they make any motions away from the uniparty. It's also surreal to hear people like Tucker Carlson go on about how we need to do something about this and sounding almost the exact same as progressives did back a decade ago when it became clear Obama wasn't doing shit about Wall Street.

I think the idea is that Fuentes and Q types are of the thinking that aid to foreign nations (especially Israel) gets cut to a whopping zero dollars, move immigration policy to the point where nobody comes in, or only those that can actually contribute do, emigration goes sky high (and if America becomes an enthnostate again, that’s a bonus to them), and arrest everyone in Washington because they have a cemetery of skeletons in their closets. The idea is to get away from....that, while keeping some of Trump’s America First policies, which could have started to see results if not for COVID.

I...I don't really see the issue with most of that. I mean, maybe we can talk about the foreign aid situation I guess but the rest of it seems rock solid. Washington is full of ghouls and our labor market and welfare system are choked with parasites. Clearing that all out would be a huge boon.

Of course they were. Every single force in the country is well aware that you bring all of the troops and all of the gear for every event now. That somehow the capitol police didn't have enough planning and staff on hand is because they wanted it to happen, for six months every force in the country has been dealing with extreme levels of rioting, even far flung places like Kenosha understood they were in deep shit the moment the video was released and immediately required National Guard, State Police and every single cop in the nearby area to come to help, they just didn't get enough help in time. The Capitol police had a fixed date with weeks of time to prepare, there is no excuse possible for them.
