Look, I'd be surprised if the ~Right Wing Militia~ was any actual danger. You'd have to be a pack of retards to be planning to murder a whole group of people with a moderate media presence. Also, it's worth noting (though not necessarily the case with Wedge, given the clear victim-complex thing) that autistic people are very often... just not terribly functional, health-wise.

Stuff like ADHD, hEDS (shitty joints disease, amongst other stuff), auditory processing issues (which was my first thought when he mentioned hearing disorders), epilepsy, mental health issues, digestive issues, hormone imbalances, sleep disorders... It's more common for autists to have multiple things wrong with them than for them to just have autism tbh.

There's probably a bunch of reasons for this (shit genetics, the autism itself causing stuff, difficulty with self-care, social isolation/rejection, communication issues with doctors etc.), but it does make separating the actual autistics from the internet attention seekers (though admittedly one can be both) a little harder than just "they're claiming a bunch of shit, clearly fake".

Edit: also put me down for agreeing Wedge probably has auditory processing disorder, it's frequently comorbid with autism, and it can manifest in some different ways, but one way it can complicate things is that background noise makes it impossible to differentiate between what someone is saying right in front of you vs the background noise. Even if someone has the TV on low several metres away while they're talking, I usually can't understand what they're saying anymore. At best i have to really concentrate and give up after a couple of minutes. It can be quite tiring.

I'm glad this has been brought up. I haven't had a good segue into talking about this yet. If you ever do a search on Twitter or Reddit with phases along the lines, "<character> made me discover/realize/turned me trans/cracked my egg". They always come up with similar results. It's always some big tittied anime bimbo waifu or from some video game. Another very cliche reason is, "I always preferred playing as female characters in games". Well no shit, most pubescent boys typically do that. That's why the developers put them in.

They never say it was some frumpy unattractive librarian character that made them troon out. It's always a character like Felix Argyle or 2b. Which is why I assume they are so popular among troon circles on Reddit and Twitter avatars.

I'm starting to think that they really do think life has some sort of return to character customization screen and HRT allows you to play on the female setting.
