Y'know I'm a dyke myself but maybe conservatives had a point with the slippery slope. Gay marriage isn't bad in itself but I think after that stopped being an issue in the US all the creeps decided to make their perversion a civil rights issue and use the same arguments that the gay rights movement did.

Even entertaining the idea that kinks are "just who they are" and they "can't help it" doesn't make it okay. IMO, a "non-offending" pedophile is like a fire-breathing dragon: a myth. You can say drawn or written CP doesn't involve children, but it's enabling and indulging your sick fantasies and it can easily be used to groom real children. If you have desires to harm anyone, especially children and animals, you need to work on keeping them to a minimum. If CBT and/or DBT (with or without medication) can help people stop self harming, stop having suicidal thoughts, stop OCD behaviors, recover from substance abuse, eating disorders, etc etc- then, if we're being optimistic, it could help quell harmful sexual desires.

I think the electric chair is a simpler solution for freaks who want to fuck kids or animals tho. Especially when people with real issues already have trouble getting into therapy.
