Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

They're just removing it from some school curriculums, that's not book burning/censorship you dumb alarmist chuds

oh btw you can't buy it for yourself anymore either deal with it
I really don't get and do not want to get how Dr Seuss books wound up on the bad wrongthink list. I'm just really thankful piracy exists.

"...prohibits Members of the House from serving on the board of a for-profit entity..."
This seems really partisan to me. Righty politicians make bank by getting into lobbying or business leadership when they leave and lefties make bank off their "Last Name Foundation" and donation oriented speaking fees. I may be way off base, but it seems like the left almost exclusively gives their payola through non-profits. I'm pretty sure there's already a rule where a certain amount of time has to pass before going from government to lobbyist or vise versa. I don't recall.
A bit late, but if you really want something that chaps your ass, Congress has strict limits on earned income while in office, but none on unearned income such as stock dividends or other returns on investments.
Is Ben Stein still around? If he is, Congress should hire him to do all readings. Dude could make a story about a shirtless George Washington killing every single Redcoat in the Americas all by himself with just an axe more boring than an ingredients label.

He obviously works in DC in some capacity and has access to the DC rumor mill, that doesn't mean he's always right though, because rumors aren't perfectly accurate by any means.

We'll see what happens I guess, personally I would think that the GOP knows they need to be capable of being elected in order to get money from their donors. Not doing anything at all to check democrat attempts to legitimize electoral fraud so they can milk their donors for more money is a serious case of valuing the short-term over the long-term.
GOP is the party of big business - what do you think has been the defining mentality of American big business for the past 20 years?

Aren't both parties big business parties at this point? I mean the dems have basically abandoned their old blue collar union base and various minority grievance groups are not wealthy enough to bankroll a major political party on their own. I'm pretty sure the big tech firms are on the Dems side, for example.

Just start viewing the GOP as a massive con job and the latter makes complete sense. The worse things get, the more money the GOP earns from increasingly desperate boomers.

However, the Senate is 50-50, so the dems may literally just not have the votes.

I personally think the bill should be filibustered no matter what.
The word I have heard is because this is being done as a "budgetary reconciliation" they don't need the 60 vote majority and only need 50 cause Harris can push it through.

This is getting passed unless a Dem Flips.

Pretty much, you'd be counting on Manchin. A dicey prospect.

In some aspects, I'd say that the Democrats are even more the party of Big Business than the Republicans at this point. It's probably why Trump lost a portion of the white vote the second time around - the Suburban white collar upper and upper middle-class professionals that benefit economically from Globalism shifted their allegiance to the Democrats, because the Democrats are 1. fully in favor of continuing the Globalist status quo of outsourcing and cheap migrant labor and 2. voting Democrat doesn't have any kind of cultural stigma that voting Republican does.

While much of the Republican base and a number of it's elected politicians are certainly in favor of Trump's brand American economic nationalism, or (in the politicians case) at least try to portray themselves as being so, the party big-wigs and the "Conservative Inc." intellectual branch that write all the policy papers are still fully onboard with Globo-homo. They just want their brand of Globo-homo to include more expensive fighter jet and warship programs along with wars in the desert.

It was always just branding, there's not much difference between a large staffing agency and something like the AFL-CIO. Generalizing about thousands of businesses with various and sometimes conflicting concerns is just weak.

Utopia is coming, and there’s nothing we can do to stop it.
